Yes. I was always taught to believe that. Those things that are "impossible" become possible by miracles. I have found, and this may seem sorta crazy, but I have found that even flying, which has always been a dream of mine, is possible. Just run down a steep hill incredibly fast and it feels like your feet don't touch the ground. And at the bottom, catch your balance very fast. So, yes, anything is possible.

It is quite obvious that ANYTHING is not possible. The only way you could possibly believe that such was the case would be if you believed that there were no rules at all. If cause does not follow effect, if science is all pretend, and if all the gods don't care what happens, then and ONLY then can ANYTHING happen.

BUT I do believe that the unlikely can happen. I'll go even farther than that - the unlikely ALWAYS happens. Not every time, mind you. But given enough time, space, and energy, it is inevitable that anything, no matter how unlikely, is bound to occur. That's just statistics talking.

We've all heard of such things too. Winning the lottery, for example, is less likely than being struck by lightning a dozen times. Yet lightning strikes SOMEWHERE, and SOMEONE wins the lotteries (not me, so far).

So no. ANYTHING is not possible. But so long as it's not IMPOSSIBLE, you can still hold out hope (and a lot less things are impossible than most people think). Just don't count on it.

What is possible or not possible depends on your mind set. Case in point... all the answers above. It's clear that some individuals do have the belief that "anything is possible" and some do not... like the guy who can't turn into a pack of cigarettes. Humanly possible, no... but let's try to keep things within some reason. Then again, I guess if you took the guy's body and creamated it into ashes, you could plug it into tobacco and cigarettes.

Anyhow, our mind set greatly reflects on the things we allow ourselves to acheive. Those that do not believe, admit defeat before they start. That's not a bad thing necessarily- it's protective. Some people feel better and secure with what they know, while others may feel better with what they can find. But if there is a goal in mind, you'll come a heck of a lot closer to it if you believe it's possible, than to be defeated before you even start.

There was another question here just before. It is a figure of speech, IMO. There are things which aren't humanly possible. There are things that aren't Strangerly (me - ex. i can't be a the greatest female singer - note I am a man, but I can kind of sing in a woman's voice while showering, but obviously it isn't by best voice and even my male voice isn't the best) possible.

Now, I would say, Given ENOUGH time, MANY things that seem HIGHLY impossible CAN be possible. I saw an example - someone said I can't be a neauclear scientist. I think I can be - i can make it happen, given time, if i have the interest. I can probably become the best chess player, given enough time, and others try less hearder than me.

I guess you understand my answer - this question has been an interesting question for me personally, for a very long time. And the answer I gave is what I still believe and tell myself.

Yes i believe. But there is a long way to go to achieve that state.
Who ever asked a question 'is it possible?' has never reached the target. Assessment of the needs and trials with the knowledge of our capability will really make anything possible. If some thing seems it is not possible then, that means we need to increase our capability. That's all.

No. It is NOT possible that I will EVER be a nuclear physicist. I am an artist and totally right brained. My step daughter has cerebral palsy. She will never be a ballet dancer or an Olympic athelete. I resent the people that tell her to "reach for the stars!!! You can be anything that you can dream you can be." You must realize your limits, set your goals from there and then be the best whatever you decide that you are CAPABLE of being. Want proof? Watch "American Idol" and look at all of the sad, deluded people who really believed that "anything is possible".

Yes, I believe that anything is possible, when you want to accomplish, something you have your mind set on doing it. If someone does nothing to better their self worth, then they should examine themselves and try to make the impossible, possible.

Everything is possible to me. Look at at the NBA players, they do not have the same height, some are 7feet and taller and some are 5 feet and over. People are just make it impossible for you. Failure is a tool to make it possible.

Anything *is* possible in a reality which is not finitely determined. Our reality is not finitely determined.
Therefore it follows that anything is possible.

However, our reality *is* relativistically determined hence relative conditions are necessary for the probability to be 'near' in terms of the dimensions of our reality as we know them. ie time and space.

So then for a thing which is possible, to be, one or more probable conditions need have relative 'closeness'/'likeness' to that frame of the reality.

No. We can try and achieve anything, but we're bound to fail at some things. "Anything" is possible? Like I could be a model if I wanted to? Not at 5 feet tall. So some things are impossible.
