It depends on how much money he wants. Its not like the guy is useless, he had 76 points in 75 games this year. Hes had about a a point per game average just about every season of his career, so unless he is asking for way too much money, I dont see why they would let him go.

Someone fresh? Like who?
Keep Sundin. He is not the problem. The problem is that no one else on the team is worth a can of beans. For one thing, you haven't had a decent goalie since Joseph left. They also have way too many overrated people, but Sundin is not one of them. Antropov is a bum that should have been dumped years ago. Kubina is overpaid. Gill is slow. Tucker is very talented, but just as likely to take a bad penalty as score. Same for McCabe. Kaberle is soft. Some of the youngsters look like they'll be good, but they need a year or so... and a guy like Sundin to keep them going in the right direction. Other than that, there are a lot of square wheels on that team. What a shame.

Leafs need to keep Sundin. He still has a lot of fuel in the tank.
I would somehow get rid of Raycroft. He played like 70 games. He should have won more than he did. Get rid of Kubina and his rediculous 5 million dollar contract and free up some cap space. Get rid of O'Neil, he's nothing but a crybaby and is all washed up. Send Peca somewhere. He's done anyways i think. We need another solid d-man and a winger who can play with sundin. Ponikarovsky and Antripov are second or third liners not first liners. Gawd, i could go on all night, and i'm a Leafs fan. Oh yeah...JFJ...YOUR FIRED!!!
Him and Bettman should go to some other sport and ruin it .

I think the Leafs should resign Sundin only if they're willing to get some players that can play with him. Sundin has tried to carry the leafs each year with no players to assist him on the points board. If the Leafs have no intention of this, let the guy go so he can pick where he'd like to finish his career. They owe him that much.

The question shouldnt be, should they sign him, because he is a franchise player, his name will go in the rafters. He reminds me alot of Yzerman from detroit. Yzerman wasnt in top form the last couple years but he played for team support, and i could see sundin doing that. If he doesnt want to retire then toronto will prolly sign him for 1 year. But the real question is, is he coming back next year?

Keep Sundin for sure. I wouldn't say he's not the opposite of fresh talent, however clearly a veteran player.

Signing Mats makes sense if the numbers aren't too high. They already overpay McCabe and Kubina.
