No he shouldn't be fired. What happened to the land of "free speech" our ancestors fought for. Does this only count as long as we don't offend the Blacks, Jews, Mexicans, Chinese, etc.etc.etc. If you don't like what he has to say, don't watch his show. I wouldn't have known he said anything that upset anyone if it hadn't gone as far as it has in the news because I know he offends me with his language so I don't watch his show. He does do a lot for charity so apparently he is helping someone out there. That is more than I can say for some mouths in the news.
Does anyone remember what it was like days after 9/11 when we cared about one another? When we weren't looking for the faults in everything the other one did? What happened to all the flags you seen everywhere?

Firing Imus would send the message that The First Amendment means NOTHING in America--and quite frankly--there's plenty of social insults made to the men and women who paid with their lives fighting for the USA.
Imus insulted black people with his careless comments, true. But he has the right to say what he did--just as we have the right to rise above Imus' ignorance and ignore the man altogether.
Very soon, Don Imus is about to enter a room, where LIVE so MILLIONS of angry people will either see and/or listen as he faces the very people and offers his sincerest apologies.
I can tell you outright, Imus is going to feel very very small and very very humble under THAT kind of REAL pressure, believe me; you would too, put in the same situation.
And that high degree of pressure will cast a deep severe mark on Imus, one that'll be felt for years ahead--maybe lasting his remaining years of life.
Are we so pristine and pure to say we haven't expressed such ugly views ourselves that we deserve to cast that thrown stone at Imus? People's responses to this incident are so ridiculous: MSNBC withdrawing their Imus simulcast, sponsors pulling ads.....boycotts for this and that called for....really people--we as a society DO need to grow up.

NO!! He should not be fired. "Nappy headed ho's" Is this what everone is so mad about. Was what he said in pour taste? Probably. We are living in a world where it is about to become ILLEGAL to OFFEND someone. Is that what everyone wants?? I think the world needs to stop taking things so personally, people don't realize there are a lot of stupid people in the world. Don't let these stupid people lower you done to there level. I am sure there are at least 1 or 2 ho's on the Rutgers team if we really checked:). Also did you notice that all the Rutgers girls had there hair straighten the day before the TV Interviews:)
Thats weird:)??

No! He should not be fired. I'm absolutely offended and I think less of him now, but are we going to all end up losing our jobs for expressing unpopular opinions? It's sad he had to take a dig at those young women like that, because they may have felt for a moment like why bother trying to achieve anything. I'm surprised no one mentions the fact that McGuirk threw in the whole j*ggaboo thing from the Spike Lee movie. The whole context of that conversation has been reported disproportionately. I'm not sure after his apology whether or not he should even get suspended.
I have a personal policy in regards to racial epithets(sp?): As long as you don't use them towards me, we cool.

Hmm I say the clip where he made his racial comment as well as saw him apologize on Al Sharpton's show. Was what he said reprehnsible? Oh yeah it was. Should he be fired? No! What he did say about "nappy hair hoes" was pretty bad but theres no reason for him to lose his whole career over it. I also heard his aplolgy and believed it was sincere enough to let him back after work after a few weeks. People make mistakes and his was just trying to be funny when he clearly wasn't. It wouldnt do any good to just throw him off the air, especially after his apology. Let it be, the man has apologized, been dragged through the dirt. Lesson learned and lets live on.

Imus is weird, so of course he is going to be a racist. Should he be fired, of course not, he needs the money to support that stupid hair style of his.

If you want to hear racial epithets listen to any Rap song. If you believe in free speech listen to, OR ignore Imus. He may be crude, but he can use his right of free speech and should not be subject to firing or speech control.

He absolutely should be fired. How would you like to be the parent of one of those girls? How dare he!
He's a pig, and his buddies in the media and politics should boycott his show.
