If so, were your results in line with your party affiliation, or were you surprised by your placement?
Did the results affect your personal "platform" in any way?
If you have previously taken one, do you think, if you were to take another today, that the outcome would be different?

I took one in high school, for an assignment, and the outcome was in line with my beliefs at the time. Recently, I took another, just for fun, and was startled at how different my placement is. Although, I disagree with my current placement.

For anyone who would like to take one here is a link to a site which lists them, along with a brief description of each test, and who sponsors it.

I just took the test you cited. It said that I am a centrist. I was slightly to the north and west of center on their little chart showing that I am in favor of more personal freedom and a more free market. All of them that I have taken characterize me somewhere between a mainstream or moderate conservative to a centrist depending on the wording of the question and the selection of answers available.

I was a Republican until Rockefeller died and the Christian Right killed the rest. I scarcely recognize them now, seeing the current deficit. I loved Pres. Clinton, was disappointed when he committed perjury. Can't stand what my current president is doing to our protected rights but not too keen on the Democrats either.
What's a mother to do? I'm gonna check out that Richardson fella, haven't heard much about him. I'm old enough to recognize it's way too early and I'm from NH and we can be a crusty bunch.
So I kick back, remain open and glean as much information as I can from a wide variety of news sources and mostly, I laugh at what a bunch of idiots we've become.

yes, right here , often.

At first blush, the United States appears to be the haven for freedom and human rights portrayed in legend, lore, and the propaganda of its school textbooks and media. However, if one can awaken from the drunken stupor induced by America-Soma, or if one happens to be a resident of another nation besides Israel or Great Britain (the only two nations still deluded enough to truly ally themselves with the United States ), the many headed hydra of the American Dystopia reveals its truly abhorrent nature. Lord Acton conveyed truth when he wrote that "power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Despite its cleverly constructed image of a benevolent super-power, those ruling the United States are more corrupt than the power elite of any nation, including those in Bush's alleged "Axis of Evil". Due to its power, military might, and rogue leadership, the United States has also become the world's most significant threat to the perpetuation of life on Earth.

Most Americans still do not realize that they are enslaved to the ruling elite, a group with a savage, relentless devotion to avarice, the blind pursuit of money, and the domination of Earth's people and resources. Under the Bush Regime, the mask of civility, morality, and democracy has slipped to the point that the hideous visage of raw capitalism and imperialistic ambition is almost completely exposed. Yet somehow, as over a hundred thousand lie dead in Iraq, the Patriot Act strips our civil liberties, the wealth gap widens to a chasm, Big Brother has been caught watching (and is unrepentant), billions of dollars are wasted on occupations of sovereign nations, habeas corpus disappears, America engages in torture regularly, property rights precede human rights, and a major city lays in ruins due to the willful neglect of a government charged by the Constitution with promoting the general welfare, many Americans still cannot, or will not, dare to even glimpse at the lurid countenance of evil leering at them from Washington.

I am a screaming radical and always have been one. Neither of the tests were able to place me because my beliefs are pretty extreme. I think we need to reduce government spending by 24% tomorrow by requiring all elected officials to pay their way out of their pocket. No paycheck, no expenses, and no staff!

Depends on the test, most are rigged by the types of questions asked, to get an answer the test writer wanted.

Wow! I just took one based on this question, and I ended up near the Dahli Lama--how cool is that?!?! I'm pretty impressed with the results...first of all, I'm in very good company, and secondly, it's pretty accurate! (And I'm exactly opposite of Dubya...but I KNEW that!)

Yes, I took it.

Did you notice that Nelson Mendela, Ghondi, Mother Teresa, and the Dalai Lama were all liberal? They motivated social changed through compassion and enlightenment.

Did you notice that Hitler, Bush, and Blair were all conservatives? They motivated social change through fear and warmongering.

I am glad that I'm liberal!

Yeah, those are a blast. I usually am not suprised by my results. Try this one www.politicalcompass.org ---it doesn't tell you what party to go for, but it shows where you stand in a unique way. It's a good one!
