TinyURL doesn't make websites, it makes the site address shorter.

Let's use this question's site as an example. Instead of having to type http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=As7B6XiSWMOh6yGp6oZVY.eZERV.?link=answer&.crumb=xgyD4Z5WQjY&qid=20070409201837AATxXzq&.done=http%253A%252F%252Fau.answers.yahoo.com%252Fquestion%252Findex%253Fqid%253D20070409201837AATxXzq (wich would be rather time consuming. Although you can't see all of it, it's 231 characters long). Visit TinyURL, paste the site in, and click Make TinyURL, and then your 231-charcater website has just been condensed to http://tinyurl.com/2lrbe9 - which is all of 25 characters long. Another thing which does the same thing is SnipURL, which is more elegant. I copied and pasted this questions site to it, and it spat out http://snipurl.com/1fw5n - much shorter.

If you want to make a website, I suggest using Google Pages or FreeWebs, both are good (except I prefer Google Pages)

I'm not sure what tiny url is.. if it's a site that says you can have a free account, then you can use that to host your website, most importantly you need a host. You might pay for your own to have something at... myname.com or you might go through a the host website as freewebs.com/myname... you may be talking about tinypic which is an image hosting website, and is not required for a website, but could be helpful, I however recommend photobucket.com

That company's service is not for making websites, just sorta pointer/handler for hyperlinks as pointers are for C.

In other words, shorten a link from a very long URL text to an alternative very short URL. Some use for it is the links in emails.

URL is the global identifier of the network retrievable documents. So having unique URL makes the users of your website to identify your web site location and to retrieve the informations from it.
