i'd say a 360 because of the price and xbox live is great, many games are released in both consoles so why waste money on the Ps3? :)

7th generation?? Don't even compare the six-axis to the wiimote. The six-axis doesn't even come close. I think they should have left it out because it's more of an annoyance than a feature. And what's up with the triggers? Trying to copy the xbox? Well it was horribly done. They made it convex which makes it easier for your finger to slip off. I don't have anything against Playstation or any other system. I have the PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, and Wii. The PS3 was a disappointment for me. First of all the blu-ray. This was such a hype that supposedly justified the price of the PS3. I'm sorry but I'd rather have it as an option instead of shoving it down my throat. What if blu-ray doesn't become successful and hd-dvd wins the hd format wars? Sony claims that blu-ray sales is more than hd-dvd. They forgot to mention that PS3 games are also blu-ray and that's part of the blu-ray sales. HD-DVD is just movies so of course they'll have less. Then we have exclusives. Guess what, Playstation is losing their exclusives as quite a few playstation exclusives are also being released for the 360. The fact is PS3 is just a blu-ray player that plays some games too. If it's so great, why are the sales in the US so horrible. The only time you couldn't find any was at launch. After that, they were everywhere because nobody was buying them. Those who bought at launch started selling for the same price or at a loss. Then we have the European launches. The UK launch was cool and all with the free HDTV but it made them look desperate. The France launch was horrible. Sony expected to have a great launch in France yet 90+% of PS3s stayed on the shelves. They expected thousands yet only a handful showed up. This gives a bad sign to game developers. Another reason why sony is losing a lot of their exclusives. Face it, sony messed up with the PS3. If you really want a playstation get the PS2. There's still some games coming out for it. It has a huge library of old games and games from japan. You can also put a hard drive in it and put all the games in the hard drive. Mine has a 200GB hard drive and playing the game from the hard drive makes the loading times much faster. If you like a great gaming experience online then get a 360. Nothing compares to Xbox Live. Granted, their best lineup are shooters, Xbox is trying to change all that with upcoming racing and rpg releases.
To sum it all up, Xbox 360 >>> PS2 > PS3, until the PS3 gets way cheaper and comes out with good games.

I think the PS3 is better mainly because it has better exclusive games. In my opinion the only big exclusive games that Xbox has is Halo, and Gears of War. (I really don't know how a first-person shooting game can really be so popular.)Sony also has more support from Japan than Microsoft does. With the PS3, you get more game console for your money with more features. The 360 to me is a sixth generation console not a seventh generation. To me, new advances in a console make it better. What does the 360 have that the original Xbox didn't have? Nothing but better graphics and new games. The Xbox has nothing new that makes playing games fresh and exciting. The Wii and PS3 both have motion sensor controllers which make them "seventh generation" consoles because motion sensor technology in games is a major advancement in gaming. I have a PS3 and I stand strong behind Sony until I die.

The two guys above me are absolutely correct, the ps3 is the best buy in the market today hands down. You get a blue-ray disk player that is the cheapest in the business, bluetooth connectivity the list can go on and on...thumbs up to you guys. And you might want to refer to this video also.
