What is the very small square shaped image on our statements?

Lately I've noticed a very small square shaped digital image on our billing statements. I've asked several people what it is, but no one seems to know. It's normally on the very left hand side, and usually near a name & address.
Does anyone know what this little digital image box is used for?

Statements from whom? Electronic statements? (Presumably if digital.)
It might be the color registration block to see if the printing has been done right.
Decoration? Logo? How are we supposed to know from the little you tell us.
