1. QB-Sure Chicago won some games this year with a not so great QB in Rex Grossman, but do notice that the games the Bears lost were the games that Grossman was awful. All the dynasties in the NFL were led by QB's. Bradshaw's Steelers, Montana's 49ers, Aikman's Cowboys. I know those teams had other great players, but it helps to have a great QB.
2. Running back- The ability to have a solid running game is so important in the NFL. A good running game will do wonders for a teams passing game.
3. Kicker- They arent the biggest or strongest guys out on the field, but those guys in a lot of games contribute to nearly half, or even all of a teams points. Two of the last 7 Super Bowls have been won by a last second field goal. Kickers help win those down to the wire games, and a great NFL team cannot be without a great kicker.

I think you'd have to say yes, considering how much a QB can effect the outcome of the game. He touches the ball every play, he has to make the throws down field and he has to read defenses, feel for pressure and make game deciding decisions. Of course, a team is compiled of more than just one player and players at other positions can make mistakes or big plays that effect the game as well but the QB has that task every snap. While i believe that team play is essential in Football, hockey and basketball, the QB of a football team is the ultimate deciding factor on most teams. Yes there are many exceptions where teams with weak QBs have gone further and even won championships but we can take it back to Marino and even further back to Unitas or even today with Palmer, Brady and manning... All these guys are remembered for their valiant efforts and how much of a difference they make to their team... There's no doubt about it QBs will forever have the most impact in football and in my opinion, it's the most important in sports. A goalie can't score for the team(usually), basketball players can't score all the points or make all the passes but a QB throws all the passes, plays defense by being accurate and keeping the offense on the field, give the team advantages in field position and is the ultimate source of scoring, they can even help the run. QBs can help their team in all aspects of football, no other position in sports can do that.

QB
O-lineman
Middle-Linebacker
The quarterback is the ring leader of the offense, he's the leader on the feild. He's the one that has go out and enstill confidence in his teamates on the field, he's the one that has to go out try to figure out, and outwit the opposing defense. There is a lot on the shoulders of the QB. He has to be the team leader against all odds, he has to make the passing game work with on his part. Otherwise opponants stack up and nullify the running game.
The QB is the general out there, your season hangs huge on the success of the guy behind center taking snaps.
However while a lot of people talk about the WRs and the running backs who come out of college and into the NFL draft. You need an offensive line that can block the pass rush, and open up holes for the running back.
Basically if you don't have a line that can hold the opposing defense at bay, it wouldn't matter if you had LT and Manning on that team. Defenses will keep them WELL in check, and your receivers can't be effective if the QB has defensive line-man in his face all day.
Secondly you need a middle line-backer. There are too many teams who will run you right up the gut if you are soft in the middle.
Having someone who can plug up the middle part of the feild makes things easier on your nose tackle. Now the opposing running back is going to spend more time running diagonally to find an outside opening, as opposed to running straight forward since he know's that going up the middle isn't going to get him that 5 or 6 yards per carry with the potential to break a big run off of missed tackles.
This is all what I think.

1. QB - The coach on the field, every team must have one of these to be a championship calibur team.
2. DB - If you can't defend the pass from people like Chad Johnson and Steve Smith, they'll walk all over you. DBs REALLY don't get the credit they deserve sometimes, both corners and safeties.
3. OL - You can have a QB as fast as Vick with the passing ability of Brady, but without an offensive line, he's still no good...That makes OL all the more important.

The field goal kicker. Even the best offences don't score a touchdown every drive. Let a good kicker like adam vinateri give you a lock on kicks, you have nothing to worry about. That is the pleasure of kickers. A 3 point lock each time, superbowl, exhibition game. Next, comes linebacker. This is the true definition of the all around player. Speed, strength, intelligence. This guy makes it work. He is your best all around player, and he is good. (example, Urlacher)
The final most important is a running back. A fast, but tolerant back that won't get injured. Even if you have a crappy quarterback, you can still win with running. (Example giants, Tiki barber, great HB, while eli manning, who sucks)
With a lock on 3 points each time, a great defensive leader and player, and a consistant offensive force, I see you can win many games this way.

Quarterback- commands the Offense..begins each play
Offensive Guard(left)- guards the Quarterback's blind spot...most important position in helping the offense apart from the QB
Defensive Tackle- Leader of the Defense...a good DT will stop plays and allow minimal yards possible
*also the Linbacker is very important as they are able to double their position as a Defensive lineman as well.
but to answer yor q. the 3 most important positions is the QB, LG and the DT

Offensive line, Quarterback and Defensive Line.
Without the Offensive line don't think you can get any type of run or pass game going. Without the Quarterback behind that oline there will be no smart decisions or nice passes that people love so much. And with out the D-Line there will be no type of run stop or pass rush to deter the runningback and distract the quarterback.

First of all my #1 position to choose would be Running back because they are mostly the scorers. Second would have to be the Kicker because usually every game comes down to just one kick. Third would be CB they help from the other team scoring and if the Running back were to get past the line the CB usually can catch up to them and make the tackle
