Too many political parties with different ideologies are existing in India. They are working in different directions. Probably, two or three may be good enough working with a focus. What do you say?

Yes, thats quite true that two or three political parties are enough.
But, numerous political parties exist because people have different ideologies in different places. So, when people start thinking as one, then, these politial parties would be able to merge the ideologies that they stand for and we would end up with fewer parties.

The real political power in India is with the unseen and invisible Power Brokers who can make or break a government. The Indian government is most certainly not a true example of the definition of democracy as is commonly understood viz.of,by and for the people. When the will of the people is trampled with impunity and the politicians of all hues have scant or no regard for the people, how can the government be called democratic? So long as the elected representative is not answerable to the electorate,we cannot call ourselves democratic just because our ministers and political parties say so.Only when the common man is given the power of recall of an elected representative, can we proclaim ourself as truly democratic.I noticed one answerer emphatically saying that the present government is democratic which is the most laughable statement.Have a Nice Day.

Political parties in India have long since outlived their purpose for playing a constructive and democratic roles in the country. They are all machinery for an organised looting of the wealth of the nation without being caught and making them accountable.

the number of parties cannot be the criteria for good or bad of a country. the ideology should be good and the persons implementing the ideology should be ideal.you can see the quarrels and corruption inside a single party.so ideology and implemaentation takes precedence over the number.

I think there shall be three political parties at least.

Just like having three cinema halls in two of which modern movies run and in third the old, melodious message conveying ones.one has a choice then .
when the first two fail in keeping their promise, the third will atleast keep you stress free
