I believe in the spirit world and have had lots of experiences when they have made contact. Please dont believe people who will tell you that its demons and fallen angels - Spirits are energy, and energy cant die. Spirits can contact people they care about and let them know that they are around them without the use of a medium, they can do this by:
Lights: Many times some people can experience flickering of lights in the room, or new light bulbs burn out instantly. More often than not your lights are effected when a spirit spends a lot of time around you or when they want to get your attention.
T.V: Spirits have been known to effectively scramble pictures on the tv set.
Radios: Many clock radios next to loved ones' bed will turn on at different hours, sometimes it is the hour that has some importance to the person who has passed away. Many times a radio with go on when a particularly significant song is on the air.
Music: many times in their own way spirits are able to impress you with a song or you may think about them when a song is played on the radio.
Clocks: A clock will stop at the exact moment the person has passed over or a clock or watch will stop working for no reason.
Telephones and answering machines: After someone dies it is possible to recieve a phone call and no one is on the other side, or you could hear the voice of the person . in some cases it has been recorded.
Appliances: Appliances have been know to stop or start working at different times when no one is around them.
Other signs are smells or the scent of the person, a favourite perfume, gifts are another sign, a spirit sends gifts and material items but we do not connect that they are from loved ones. Spirits can impress us to buy things or go to shops where things we like are there and we buy them. Animals are also used by the spirit . Many times a spirit being can influence a bird or small animal to come by us to get our attention in some way.
My dad died nearly three years ago. He was very sick with a terminal ilness. The final days of his life he was talking about the fact he wanted to catch up with his mum and his brother also crossed over. And thats all he talked about. All of us kids (there are 6 and we are all adults of varying ages 30 - 40 and all educated to varying degrees). The day before he passed away I felt realy happy and carefree as if I was going on a trip. I was singing a couple of dads favourite songs including a favourite of his called "I am going back to where I come from". I had to remind myself that I was not going anywhere of significance and still I felt light hearted and free. at 7 the next morning mom rang to tell me that dad had died at 5.15 that morning. Now I have a clock with a picture of my son as a baby on it on my night stand and it stopped at 5.15. My sister rang me that day and told me when she heard the news that she had thought "poor dad what will become of him? and got a very clear answer back "we have him" in her mind.
The next few months all of us reported that we had had experiences of dad speaking with us in dreams or in my sisters case she actually heard him play his harmonica to her but when she went to investigate it stopped. My pet name that my dad called me was Lucy and when I was in a shopping mall I had this urge to go to the public notices where people advertise things for sale and there was a advert for a lost dog called "hello Lucy".
It has been believed for 100's of years that the dead return in spirit and lets us know they are alright in lots of subtle ways. Because spirits are energy they communicate through electricity. I asked dad alound once "if you are here make a light globe explode and several went off that week", the house was new and all the globes had been replaced a couple of weeks before.
Spirits communicate through so many signs. Keep a look out. When my dad was cremated I stood at a pond and said a prayer and my partner was squinting and could of sworn he saw a old guy in a hat of the 40's walking by out of the corner of his eye and then it was gone..................my dad wore hats and the clothes he described were what my dad was dressed in at his cremation.............
You might be on the bus and notice something of significance on a bill board. My dad loved the 202 rifle as he had learnt to shoot in the army. After he was cremated my family went to a favourite place and got some fish and chips. The guy called out their number for their order and it was 202....................
In the parapsychology section someone posted a question about ghosts - there are alot of questions posted in Mythology also and 20-30 people share their experiences of contact with the deceased. I have one in my question section which was resolved. Spirits exist and they can make contact to let us know they are ok. And spirits can haunt to they come back for all sorts of reasons and many people report regularily on this forum of their experiences and that tells me there must be some truth in it.

I have. It sounds totally fake but it was years ago on my families vaccation in the south, we were visiting an old family house that no one has lived in since the early 1900's. The house was set out in the middle of the woods, my family owns the whole property but nobody takes care of the house or the cemetary that's near it. It was raining and my sister and I were upstairs in this house checking htings out (not a great idea since the house was falling appart) but I looked out the window and there was a guy standing just at the line of trees from the second story window and when I turned to say something to my sister about him and looked back it he was gone. Eventually I told one of my great-uncles about it and he was surpised and went into some crappy (and this is the part that sound REEEEALLY fake but i swear it's true..or so he told me) story about how one of the sons in the house had gone off the fight in the civil war and got shot pretty early on and his sister had sworn to see him. But it was still weird. Weird things always happen to my sister and I if we're together in places like that...
Weirder then that...and this sounds even more stupid...and you'll probably disrard EVERYTHING I say after you read this...but I swear I have a cat haunting my house, usually I feel him. Late at night I'll be lying in bed and I'll feel it jump up on the bed and walk up to about my hip level and stop, the first time it happened I sat dead up right and flipped on the light, it wasn't my cat since at the time I slept with the door open but it happens about once every couple of weeks. I've seen him once or twice. the first time I was cooking and I looked over into the hallway and saw a long haired white cat walking into my dining room and I thought you know a stray cat had gotten in since my cat is short haired gray thing so I walked into to the living room and it wasn't in there, there's no where for anything ot hide in there. So...yeah. Weird stuff.

Yeah...I believe in spirits. And I know that spirits of my loved ones have been around me when I needed them, but nothing weird ever happened until....
Last September my family moved into a trailer. We walked onto the property and it felt just like a Stephen King novel. Creepy! We consecrated the land to the Lord and asked a blessing of protection from evil and the creepy went away.
But one spirit stayed behind...
A 19/20ish girl. Long, light brown hair, tied in a white bow. Brown dress. White pinafore. Sweet face. I think she was French Canadian. Amelie/Emilie...something like that.
So weird things happened. THings fell. Things would be up high and be fine and fine and then...crash! They're on the floor! I had a vase on the fridge. It had been on the fridge for ages. One morning during breakfast, it went sailing across the room and shattered on the floor. Scared the crap out of my kids! And one afternoon as I was getting my daughter dressed to go outside, a plastic bowl (which had been resting on a pile of stuff...because I put it there when she took off with it...) floated up a little, floated across the room severa inches and fell to the floor. And finally, there was a 3-wheel big wheels in the trailer. And as I walked across the floor, the previously stationery trike came driving toward me.
I have never had such weird occurances before or since. We live in a different house at this time, and things stay where I put them.

I haven't seen a ghost, but I have had lots of paranormal experiences.
I just recently moved into my grandparent's house. My grandma died in 2003 and my grandpa died in 2005 and we inherited the house.
Downstairs:
-I believe the downstairs is inhabited by my grandpa, mostly, because we will set something on the counter and then when we turn around, it will either be gone or moved to some other place.
-My grandpa always used to clip clothes pins to our clothes when we were little and we find clothes pins all over the house.
-Lights turn on and off and the cupboard doors open.
Upstairs:
-I think that this is inhabited by someone I don't know and I think it is a hostile ghost.
-Lights will turn on and off when I leave the room.
-I always see shadows move across the bottom of my door.
I hate the upstairs ghost cause he scares the crap out of me!

My first house that I bought was haunted! NO JOKE!
I sold it because of that. Too creepy for me.
So we usually go out for breaky on Sundays and the Sunday prior to that we didn't go. My mom is a huge bacon lover, but this is the only day she eats it.
So anyway, we were at my old house cleaning it for the new owner. I was upstairs and my mom was in the kitchen. So she yells at me, we should have gone out for breaky on Sunday. I yelled down to her why? She yelled back to me I am craving bacon so bad that I can smell it.
I couldn't smell a thing, then I went downstairs and in the kitchen only I could smell bacon frying. You know how string that smell is. So we went into the adjoining livingroom and couldn't smell it, went outside and saw that no one was around and that all of my neighbours were at work, went back in the house and could only smell it in the kitchen.
We walked over the the eating area (attached to the kitchen) and we couldn't smell it. Then we opened the basement door and it was like someone was sitting at the top of the stairs cooking bacon.
My mom and I looked at eachother and just left very quickly as we both got totally freaked out!
That was just one of few I have expereience in that house.
I was 19 when I bought it and I remember after I got my cat she would sit on the end of my bed frozen staring out my bedroom door. She wouldn't move all night. She was literally frozen. There were also a couple of time when I thought my room mates were home because I could hear someone walking around and they would either not be there or be sleeping.
Oooh I'm getting goosebumps.

Never have, never will. Neither will anyone else. Ghosts are make believe characters for unexplained occurences. Things happen than no one can explain (yet), but the very idea that people can 'come back' from the dead and communicate, move objects and be seen by living beings defies all laws of physics -- laws even ghosts must abide by in THIS universe. Think about it: you hear a strange noise in the attic; some THING has to make sonic waves in order for us to hear. Sound is a physical thing -- it can be measured, felt, altered and captured on electronic mediums. Same goes for sighting of ghosts; what are we seeing? Light waves? Those are physical so they should be able to be recorded and measured. Objects flying through the air? OK, what exactly is PUSHING the objects around? Oxygen? Smoke? Trolls? A physical action must take place in order to move an object -- again, a measurable event. There isn't one single piece of hard evidence that any of these criteria have been established by otherworldy beings. Logic dictates that ghosts simply don't exist. We should be looking for the REASONS some events are unexplained vs trying to prove the existence of ghosts.
Pardon...I am now off my soap box.

I personally have not. However my sisters kids and their friends spending the night with them have seen more than one. They didn't tell each other about it at first, but a long time later they talked about what they saw. Each one saw a man wearing a cowboy hat. Years later in the same house my nephew felt someone touch his leg, opened his eyes and saw a little girl. He was so scared that he left the light on the rest of the night. He had his baby in the same room, was worried about him, so got up and hung a cross over the babys crib. The cowboy was seen on more than one occasion.

Yes. I have lived in quite a few houses with spirits. It would take to long to recount all of them. I will tell you one though. It happened when I was three years old. I had gotten up to go to the bathroom and was walking down the hall. We had a nightlight at the end of the hall so I could see where I was going. Anyway, I looked up and saw an old Indian man standing at the end of the hall where the nightlight was. He was strong and not afraid of me. He looked a little confused as to why I was there though. He put his hand out to me as if to say not to run. I didn't run and I wasn't scared. He seemed to smile at me and then he left. I felt very safe with him there.

i have seen lots of ghosts, or spirits they can be around us at any time. if they are there you should feel them first, then seeing them is the hard part but there is a secret to seeing them. i came across this by accident and then my sister started seeing them. the way is... you know them 3d books with all the patterns in them and you have to re focus your eyes untill you see the hidden picture. well the same goes for seeing spirits. if you look straight at them you wont see anything but if you keep refocusing your eyes the same as you do in the books you will see something start to appear if there is anything there you might just see an outline

A few years back, I had a visitor that I named "Albert". I would feel his presence everywhere that I went in the apartment that I was living in at the time. My Ex thought that I was crazy until one night I told him that he was standing at the end of the bed. (the dog's ears were REALLY perked up at this point). My Ex sat up in bed and yelled at him to leave and that he was never to come back. The next morning, every clock in my house was exactly 30 minutes ahead of the time that it was supposed to be. Needless to say, I didn't stay there much longer.
Another apartment that I had rented had a little girl in it that kept calling for her mommy. She kept saying that she couldn't breathe and that she couldn't find her mommy. After talking to the owner of the building, he asked me if I had heard her too. He told me that back in the 1920's there was a house fire and a little girl and her mother perished in the fire. Apparently I was not the first tenant to hear the anguished cries of the lost little soul.
