I would like to find out the IP address of someone who is on a forum with me. How do I do that?

Generally speaking, its hard to get someones IP address from a chatroom. You can 'whois' a user in IRC chat but the host name or IP address you will get is that of their ISP.

To get someones IP you need to have a direct connection from your computer to theirs. When you have a connection established (example: sending a song or image file to someone else) open your MS-DOS window and type netstat -a or netstat -n
This will list all current connections, their host names and IP addresses. Happy hunting.

look in the internet...there are many programs that allow to check for an IP address, keep in mind some IP addresses can be hidden

You can find the IP address from e-mail or website. Otherwise I guess very difficult. I have answered about it already you better check my answers for detail.

unless u know his a) email address or b) are the webmaster it would be tough unless u wanted to inject some script code thru the forum but then u wouldnt be asking us would u anyway if u have his email if he sends u one its pretty easy to find it depending on what site u use on yahoo its easy just click the show more info button on the header thing and its there
