Both are equally good to measure in kilograms. Now some would say that a pencil weighs so much more than a flea, but I say it doesn't make any difference. If the pencil weighed
0.002 kg and the flea weighed 0.00002 kg
when expressed in scientific notation they come out to
2*10^-3 kg and 2*10^-5kg.
I have seen the mass of an electron measured in kg, it is something like
3.012*10^-31 kg.
That is an exceedingly small number for an exceedingly small mass.

1 Kg is 1 litre of water.

Both the flea and pencil are light even though the pencil may be heavier.

You will use grams to measure any of them rather than Kg.
Note that 1000grams = 1 kg

A flea may be 8 grams, a pencil may be 20 grams
