I just bought the limited edition of Star Wars IV A New Hope on DVD, in the original theatrical version (disc 2) there are no subtitles when Greedo speaks like in the original film...does anyone else have this problem with their copy? Thanks.

Maybe I worded that wrong...in 1977 when I saw the film in the theater, Greedo and Han have a conversation. Subtitles were present so we could read what Greedo was saying...on the DVD version there are no subtitles...so we have no idea what Greedo is saying.

I have the same DVD and I don't have that problem. It sounds like you need to adjust your player's subtitle function. Your subtitles on your player might be off or set to a different level. I use my Playstation most of the time to watch movies. Sometimes I have to "play" around with the subtitles on some movies. Try that and you should get your subtitles.

If you are from the UK, click the source. If not, I think you should go for getting the box set now because your first option will cost more than the boxset itself. your last option is good but you will have to fork out god knows how much money and plus it might never get any cheaper. hope that helps

I'm a little confused by your question because the 'original theatrical release' IS the 'original film'. :-/

You may have to turn them on.
