Both, that is how I come up with Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner and George Clooney. All three of them are handsome and they can act.

Now that I think of it, I look for the skills first. To be truthful, it is the physical appearance that first sparks some interest, but if the actor doesn't give a decent performance, I would be very disappointed. But if I'm obsessive enough about how he looks, and I see potential; then I would keep a lookout for him.

they've got to have both....if you're just looking at a good looking actor after a while it's boring and you don't want to watch them anymore.....but if they only have skill with no looks, it had better be a really good movie to keep your attention for so long

take tom hanks, hes my man, he above average looking but not the hottest but his performances move me. Like ive always said, if tom cruise was in an accident and his face couldnt be repaired ( by the way I think hes hideous ) his career would be over ) if tom hanks was hurt look wise, his career would still be there cause its on skill and merit !

Itzs a chemistry thing - I just like Robin Williams and have gone to see movies I never would have watched had they been casted differently. Now why do I like him? I don't know - I'm thinking it's chemistry.
