Yes. The Libertarian Party primary does work this way.

Another method I heard suggested is to run the whole election like American Idol. Each week, we vote somebody out, till we're finally down to 2 or 3 choices. That's a whole lot better than letting Vermont decide what those choices will be.

No. You can't because it will make your ballot paper invalid and won't be counted. If none of the candidates meet the required percentage to win, the election is usually repeated.

you are able to write in whomever you want. Santa Clause...your self..or not one of the ABOVE. And if maximum did that...the election might bypass to the subsequent optimum vote getter. yet that isn't in any respect ensue.

Don't you recall how confused Democrats in Florida were in 2000 about the butterfly ballots (that they designed)? Just imagine what THIS would do!
