If parties and people followed the definitions of the party that would be one thing.
On the whole I agree with that initial summation with the above warning. People don't always follow the defined meaning.
I have found on the whole in Canada anyway that the party and the label eg Lib Con to be pretty worthless . Maybe it is different in the US I don't know.
That said I have voted Lib all my life. Except that once and I don't want to talk about it.
The exchange of idea's is always good except when you are dealing with a babarian and then it is best to dig up the barbarians in your own nation to go "deal" with them.
There are country's out there that are lead by people and idea's that cannot participate in reason . I suppose the best case scenario becomes to have the free thinking free minded people write the domestic laws and so on to ensure our peoples freedoms and liberties while keeping a healthy dose of barbarians at the ready for people outside our borders who may not be so balanced.

The term 'Liberal" has come to mean something completely different than what it once was. No they ae not ignorant, they are very clever. Nobody should be so completly devoid of ethical and moral values to be considered politically correct at any price. That was the Fall of the Roman Empire as well!

I, too, am disheartened when I read the comments of obviously uneducated people who use the term "ignorant" so loosely.
I like to remind those people that Thomas Jefferson was a liberal; that Martin Luther King was a liberal; that Abraham Lincoln was SO liberal that he could be called RADICAL.
Then I like to remind them that Adolph Hitler was ultra conservative; that Idi Amin was conservative, and that the Ayotollah Khomeini was conservative.

First of all, take Jesus OUT of the Conservative fold.
He was probably the most liberal man in history.
The original 'make love not war', tree-hugging, (dope-smoking?) hippie.
A real liberal can never be classed as ignorant, it's a contradiction in terms.

Lest we overlook in Revelation that Jesus suggested i'm the Alpha and Omega, the start and the tip. i exploit purely the King James Bible and count on it as being the basically perfect authority for each thing. The KJB is bashed conventional by skill of guy and his worldly information as being incorrect. maximum of what's suggested in this comprehensive placed up reflects using placed up modern variations that use the oldest and excellent manuscripts (Egyptian records that disagree with one yet another over 3,000 cases basically interior the Synoptics). perfect? No. Older? in step with danger. placed up modern Christian theologists count on eye-catching guy, no longer God. John a million:a million says all of it: interior the start the be conscious replace into with God, the be conscious replace into God;

Don't you love it when people simplify things to a single issue, exaggerate it, and then consider themselves to have won an argument.
Kind of silly.
First, you haven't asked a question (read the rules of Yahoo! Answers again, please).
Second, both sides are far more complex, as most of us know and we do not suffer foolish posts gladly.
Third, I'm sure you have actual questions to ask, AND SHOULD!
But constant posting of your views with no dialogue is a form of self-gratification more suited to conspiracy websites and self-annointed soap-box preachers.
Join us. I agree that it is silly to call all liberals ignorant. But don't do the same silly thing yourself. We have enough of such nonsense already.

Where did you manage to find enough libs to agree on what the definition of liberalism is? I looked it up from 3 different sources and they all said it is disputed. I think it's just code word for communism and that's why I think they are dumb.
Liberal: someone so open minded their brain fell out.
