I would not recommend 18 kt gold for an everyday peice of jewelery especially if it is thin. 18 kt is pretty fragile and needs to be worn with great care. If it is a nice peice it will not be cheap.... $300 for no cheaper than a 18kt thin box chain. Good luck and if someone bought it for you then what a great present!!!

An 18k gold necklace can be both cheap and expensive. The price will depend on how much gold is used in the necklace. The bigger the necklace and the more it weighs, the more it will cost. On a home shopping network that I currently purchase from called ShopNBC, the cheapest 18K gold necklace is $99 and the most expensive 18K gold necklace is $4,199. I guess that depends on what you mean by cheap. If you are looking to buy one it might be moderately priced. And 18K gold is softer then 14K gold....24 K is the softest, because it is the purest. 18k is 18 parts gold 6 parts some type metal. That is why rings and such are 14k or 10k gold...so they don't bend so easily.
So just exactly what do ya mean by cheap?

No sir. It may be inexpensive to purchase, but it is still a valuable item of jewelry and the lady should be pleased if it comes with a pretty charm. 14k is a bit soft for gold rings they say, but after that the amount involved in fashioning items goes up so it still should be a worthy item to own or buy.

no..depends what u get like necklace,earrings, etc...go to a good jewlery store though..most is about a couple hundred of dollars
