why do i think chemistry is so cool? it gives me butterflies when i see a word like potassium nitrate or hydroxic acid. i hardly know ANYTHING about chemistry, yet seeing these things makes me want to know what the chemical is down to the molecule. i don't get it.

another thing, im a Sophomore in highschool now. i havent taken a chemistry class though. could my desire for chemistry fuel a career later on and at least keep it interesting?

I believe what makes chemistry sooo cool is the fact that it can be applied to everyday life. Just think there are hundreds of chemical reactions going on inside your body right now!!! Another reason that i believe it is cool is the fact that when you learn something about it, you can say that you know something about one of the hardest subjects in college(or high school). Why else would my major be pharmacy =-p?

Ohhhh yeah. Just think, you can get a masters in chemistry with a minors in forensics and work in a lab where you never know what is going to be thrown at you!

Chemistry rocks, and yes you can do bunches of fun stuff with chemistry interest. Biology, pharmacy, microbiology, and medicine are heavily related. Chemistry has bunches of sub-specialities, such as organic chemistry, biochemistry etc.

I think chemistry is so cool because you actually get to play with the chemicals in school. You can do lots of neat stuff without being a professional chemist.

Well, good for you. I'm sure that you got a smattering of chemistry in middle school, so it can't be totally unknown to you. I would suggest you have an Algebra I course accomplished. While the names of glamerous, the math is important.
