Well, to correct one person's answer, it's Lucas that did the SW films, not Steven Speilberg. No biggie.
Also, this question has been asked here before, but to answer it again, there was a rumour running around since 1981 that Lucas had plans to make Star Wars a trilogy of trilogies (a 9 part saga), but has since gone back on that idea. He's stated that it takes too long to make each film, and he's getting too old. Plus, the story ark ends when Luke cremates Vader. Annakin has fullfilled his destiny by bringing balance to the force by destroying the Sith, which included himself. Also, don't forget, Palpatine/Sidious was still in the center of the Death Star when it blew up, so, I am pretty sure that he's dead.
There are a number of books that tell of the events after that film, but they were only commissioned by Lucas, not written by him, so I doubt he'd ever make any of them into movies. But he is working on a live action and an animated tv show, one that takes place in between episodes 2&3, and the other between 3&4.

Originally I thought there were suppose to be. But, I think Lucus has said that he's finished with the movies. However, there is talk of a tv series covering the time between 3 & 4. Which would be great.

I don't think there will be but George Lucas DID leave it a possibility at the end of Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi. You see, the Emporer was 'supposedly' killed when he fell to his death. BUT, if Luke can fall thousands of feet and live then so can the Emporer. If Darth can fall thousand of feet (in a ship even) and live, then of course the Emporer could survive a fall. If Yoda can survive a fall of thousands of feet, then Darth Sidious certainly had enough force to survive himself. So yeah, I believe the Emporer 'could' still be alive. It's all up to Mr. Lucas now... :-)

I bet they'll make episodes 10, 11 & 12 first. And THEN, go back and make episodes 7, 8 & 9. LOL
