The minumum wage was originally established as a "workers fair wage"... meaning a company couldn't take all your time and pay you less than you needed to live on. It has not been increased over the years by near enough, and now it has lost that meaning. It is essentially only there now to prevent workers from driving the wages down to ridiculously low levels in their competition to get jobs. Businesses have an obligation to make as much profit as they can, and if workers will take lower wages, a business would be ignoring that obligation if it didn't take them up on it. The law is there to prevent that from happening beyond a certain point.
The minimum wage concept is good, it's the current number that is wrong.

A minimum wage is only there so politicians feel good pretending to do something good for the people. To bad they don't have to try to live on it. They make their 10's of thousand a year, free medical coverage, expense accounts and don't even have to break a sweat for it. 40 hours a week at $7.50 is $300.00 before taxes. In New York some politicians get $50.00 a day for meals when in session, that is $250.00 and no tax taken out. What this country really needs is a MAXIMUM wage for politicians. And an affordable health plan.

The U.S.Government and American Employers have kept Sixteen(16*)+ Million workers in Poverty since 1997=$5.15hr by denying them an increase in the Minimum Wage! The actual increase they are proposing amounts to 17.6cents an hour for waiting 12yrs for a Minimum Wage increase! 1997=$5.15 2010=$7.25hr!! Because it is on a graduated basis we will not receive the full amount $7.25hr until 2010! Would you work for 12yrs for a 17.6cent an hour increase in your paycheck?? Thats Insane! Are we suppose to be grateful now for this so called increase?? If they sincerely want to improve the lives of people working for Poverty Level Wages then they will have to pay above Poverty Level Wages.. An honest days pay for an honest days work is long overdue by the U.S. Government and American Employers... Pay them a fair and equitable Living Wage.. To not do so is to keep them in perpetual Poverty.... How much longer are these workers earning Poverty Level Wages going to be ENSLAVED by the U.S. Government and American Employers?? NO ONE WHO WORKS FOR A LIVING SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE IN POVERTY.... It is immoral not to pay them a Living Wage.....

War is peace --- and therefore in order to have peace the US must be in perpetual war The above is double think -- a sign of "cognitive dissonance" and it is one of the chief tools of mind control agents --------- It is also rampant throughout the US War is peace -- Freedom is slavery ------ more double think But if you want to be free then you believe that the private owners of the corperation have rights beyond anyone elses and can do anything they want with thier land their employees their radio and tv stations -- Freedom is slavery to the monied class because they are better than you are and know more --- they should be obeyed -- and you are free to find another master to work for so it is not slavery but if you want to eat you must rent yourself out under the conditions of a rich person --because --- you want the freedom of the money they will give you in return for your obedience and ability to see things their way War is peace --- freedom is slavery Ignorance is strength It is now accepted that showing the activities of war and the results of the chemical weapons in the battlefields upsets people -- seeing babies born with horrible deformities is weakens the nations because the nation would demand it stop - therefore ignorance is strength and the people themselves are now demanding that they be kept ignorant in order to keep the nation strong -------------------- The mind control is out of control -- and the people are sleeping as if in a trance

Good ? I guess to meet or attempt to meet some kind of moral standard in regards to the least amount an employer can pay an employee.
