The ACLU is one of Rush's main targets - attacking them consistently and claiming they are against american values, they are communists, and spoilers of morals and decency.

Why would they defend their own enemy? Or asked more correctly - why would they not consider him their enemy?

The ACLU is defending the First Amendment not Rush Limbaugh. They did the same thing when they won the case that gave a Nazi group the right to peacefully march in a Jewish neighborhood.

The first amendment is critical to our freedoms and one of the most important things that separates a democratic form of government from a dictatorship. Defending this right is very important. "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will die for your right to say it." Since I served 8 years in the US Army I swore an oath to defend that right with my life if required. I wasn't called upon to do that, but I could have been and I take any oath I swear very seriously.

How would you feel if the press wanted to publish your medical records or if they wanted to publish the records of your favorite politician? By defending Rush Limbaugh they defended those same cases as well. The ACLU understands the idea of freedom, we can't just grant the freedom of speech to those we want to hear from, we have to allow the other sides the chance to speak as well. Too many people think that the Constitution exists to only serve their agenda. It severs to honor the legitimate agenda of ALL Americans, and the actions of the ACLU defend your right to ask this question and the rights of those who want to answer it.

When I was in first or second grade I cheated on a test.I was going to turn my spelling test in and saw my neighbor's paper on the way. I did not get caught but felt so guilty I told my mom. It didn't work out for me anyway because I still put the apostrophe in the wrong place. I guess I was just nervous. I can honestly say I never cheated again.

What are you trying to do, put the reds in turmoil. Good job if thats it. In answer to your question, it was a good thing, protecting anyones freedoms is what the ACLU does and if they didn't help Rush then it would have been bad. .

That's the ACLU for you. Contrary to some opinion, they really aren't left or right leaning...but the folks on the right spend so much time trying to force their ideas on everyone else, that they keep the ACLU pretty busy.

It was good to prove their neutrality, and down the line, it should help Rush sort things out a little better.

Dittoheads are all about confrontation. Maybe this will be a lesson in cooperation.

The way Limbaugh made fun of Michael J. Fox & has
exploited the lives of other people, no, I don't think they
should have defended him in the least.
But, I'm not in the law business, I just see what's good for
goose must be good for the gander.

The ACLU defends anyone, even the charactor challenged Rush Limbaugh. (They even defended Oliver North)

If they hadn't, any decent lawyer could have. It is just following the law, btw.

And did it ever occur to you (or the ACLU) that Rush wouldn't make the world's best token?

Admit it, Argle, it's hilarious!

The right-wingers call the ACLU communist for defending peoples constitutional rights.

But when they are defending a right-wingers criminal activity they are heroes.

GOP=pathetic hypocrisy.
