I rarely think revenge is worth it. If you are hurt by someone, it is natural to want to hurt them back. The problem is that revenge is empty. The best you can hope for is that you gain some peace from it.
You'll never feel that you are a better person for taking revenge. Many times the person you are seeking revenge against doesn't even appreciate that you are getting revenge...especially if like me...you tend to "hit back harder than you get hit".
Sometimes being the bigger person is it's own reward. Of course there is also the sick pleasure if the other person was expecting you to take revenge...watching them sweat at what you might do is very satisfying....*insert evil laugh*

Sometimes. You ask a very simple question, yet it can have a very complex answer. Sometimes revenge or getting even will only escalate feelings and make things worse. It seems that when ego or personality get hurt in the process revenge seldom solves anything. Sometimes revenge is worth it. When someone has hurt you in different ways, such as a store not replacing a bad product, or someone hitting your car in the parking lot and then denies it, even though people saw it, then revenge, or sueing someone makes you feel better, malpractice is another occasion where revenge is justified.
Each case has to be viewed on its own merit.

Let's keep it real. Revenge is delicious when it works. But sometimes the person you want to exact revenge from doesn't know that they've wronged you so your revenge doesn't have it's full effect. The bible says 'vengeance" belongs to God. It does. I've lived and I can tell you do not spend one single minute trying to get back at anyone. Don't stand there and take punishment. Don't participate in a dysfunctional relationship but do not waste one minute of your precious time on this planet concocting revenge. Pay back is a ***** and she's knows what she's doing.

I dont get the "fester-y" thing, but revenge is worth it only depending on the situation. But usually it isnt. It only causes fighting and grudges that never end. Have you ever seen the Prestiege? It ends with the guy dying...

If it satisfies the avenger, then revenge is justly appropriate. If someone is firing a weapon at me, then I will return fire attempting to terminate the assailant and his/her action. Revenge for petty actions such as verbal insults are not worth your time and effort. Any revenge or retaliation on your part should be commensurate with the damage against you. Another thought, is that when you choose revenge to even the score in your mind, there is always the potential for escalation, which could lead to deadly consequences.

Revenge is never worth it, it makes you look childish by retaliating. In the end it just creates more of a mess of things. Talking out the problem is best, but if that doesn't work, show that you're mature and walk away form the situation.

Revenge though it feels good is never worth it. It just makes the situation worse and worse.
