He owns a ranch that helps sick kids out in Arizona somewhere. It's an honest effort, and though small, I think it does a fair amount of good.
Mr Imus is not the Supreme Court of the United States of America. He is an entertainer, and he makes people laugh, and he does it quite well.
Making the Reverend Al Sharpton, who has severe integrity issues of his own (re Tawana Brawley) mad at you is not such a bad thing.

The only thing to understand is that we are getting too sensitive about stupid remarks people make.
If we fired all the people who had made a silly or offensive remark, there would be no work left and factories and radios would shut down.
The man, Imus makes a living at being off the cuff and yes radical!
We the listeners need to differentiate between silliness and intent. For the most part, Imus is a decent man, with opinions.
He gets paid for it--- Others have perfectly correct records, yet are very morally corrupt in private.
To forgive him would imply that we have never made a very stupid faux-pas. So, because he is a morally conscientious person, charitable or not, he deserves the respect of the community he has realized could be offended by his ---grrrr comments.
I cannot afford to be charitable, i make mistakes, will you please forgive me?

"I'm not a bad person. I'm a good person, but I said a bad thing. But these young women deserve to know it was not said with malice," he said. (Watch the backlash against Imus )
He pointed to his involvement with the Imus Ranch, a cattle farm for children with cancer and blood disorders in Ribera, New Mexico. Ten percent of the children who come to the ranch are black, he added."

He needs to get in shape. He's flabby. Those female athletes he insulted could run circles around him. He should get fit for charity and they should be his personal trainers. He is a jerk though, and I can't feel any real sympathy for him.
