ok.here is the problem with my male betta.he already done spawning and it seem like he didn't care about the eggs falling to the bottom of the tank at all.the female did most of the work picking up the eggs and putting it in the bubble nest.after i took the female out, he didn't stay under the nest to look after the eggs.he just swim around the tank not taking care of the eggs.then two days later, when the eggs suppose to be hatch by then.i look at the bubble nest, there seem to be no baby fry hanging on to the bubble or no bubble under the styrofoam cup.there were no bubble, no hatchling.

As MM said he may just be inexperience, never separate the male from the egs or they may never hatch.
the male is suppose to put them in his mouth to clean them but also the flued in his mouth that cleans weakens the eggs so that the fry can hatch. If you're spawing I'm going to assume you had the proper set up and already had it at the warm temerature that's well suited for spawning and healthy fry.

if the spawning tank was too clean, then the bubbles don't always stay there they pop and discipate causing eggs to fall and tease the male like food. there are also males that just have a taste for fry and a lack of responsibility.

also, the male may have done the "embrace" but did you notice him releasing any fluids? it's very possible that they may have been unfertilized as well.

I hope that helps, I'm sorry about the spawn. you can try again in 3-4 weeks when the female has eggs again =)

i've got had male bettas consume the eggs, and that i've got had them consume the fry, too. whilst this has got here approximately interior the previous, that's often been on the 1st spawn for the male. i'm undecided how worry-unfastened that's, even if that's got here approximately to me numerous cases. i've got additionally had the adult males consume all of the fry, too. i don't understand that there is truly any particular clarification for it, yet probably that's the stress of figuring out on the eggs up repeatedly back, he basically makes a decision he does not choose to do it anymore? Or it would desire to be that he does not understand what to do, as a results of fact he's youthful and his instincts have not kicked in to the fullest volume. attempt to no longer feed the male after the spawning has befell, till the fry are unfastened-swimming and you will eliminate him from the tank. As unusual because it sounds, once you feed him slightly, it distracts him from his fatherly responsibilities, and now and back it is going to whet his urge for foodstuff, and he will start up snacking on the eggs or the fry.

Wait so you are asking why is your betta eating your eggs or why are they not hatching.
I think your male is still inexperienced and he will get the hang of it the next few times (i hate you magic man)
Also i think maybe your tank is too cold for your eggs to hatch try getting a heater and raising the temperature to 80 degrees. Also you should separate your male after the the eggs are in the bubble next.

Sometimes this happens especially with a first spawning for a male. Given another try or two he will probably do much better. Sometimes you can get males that just never quite get the hand of things though, but don't give up on your yet.

Breeding should be in tank set up for breeding only so the eggs can hatch safely...most fish eat the eggs...if not the see would be full to the rim with fish...
eggs are just another food source to them.
