They already own defeat.

Not one of them answered your question. Not one of them denied owning defeat, either.

Just blamed Bush or criticized you. It was a reasonable question. Maybe you'll get a grown-up who will come on and say he is a Democrat who wants to see the US kick some terrorist butt.

But don't hold your breath.

There is no war in Iraq, there;s an occupation. How do you win an occupation? Kill all the people who resent you for destroying their country? And then kill all the relatives of the people you killed?

The democrats aim to end the occupation, and with any luck, hold the lying bastards accountable, and restore some credibilty to our once great nation in the eyes of the world.

And we'll see who owns defeat after the next election.

Sure, this is what keeps you going isn't it. Four years, a trillion dollars or so down the hole, but hey. Just imagine. If "you" WON... Wouldn't that be swell. The whole mideast tranquilized and/or suppressed into a semi peaceful state for maybe a whole month or two before the next "pre emptive" military adventure became "necessary?" The American oil industry just coming all over themselves and you too with gratitude for securing control over the global cartel for them?
What a dream, huh.

Yeah, just need to reach a little further for that big brass ring.

As long as its the taxpayer's money and not your own. As long as there's one more fool in Iowa desperate enough for college tuition to enlist so your own kid doesn't have to go instead.

We will win the war in Iraq as soon as we figure out how to kill others faith and belief.

Given that every major empire that has existed in human history has failed at doing this, I'd say it's a safe bet that Iraq will at best end like Vietnam, at worst like the war on drugs.

You would fight tooth and nail against some foriegn power invading your homeland. The whole nation would.

Some of those opposing us feel the exact same way.

This is a war of attrition. This is how conquered countries fight back against occupiers when they don't believe as you do. This is how Al Quaeda pushed the Soviets out of Afghanistan in the '80s (with our help). This is how the Viet Cong pushed us out of Vietnam in the '70s (with the Soviets help).

You don't win these wars, unless you can get the majority to believe as you do. And changing people's beliefs can be damn near impossible. Just look at 99% of the questions and answers in this topic.

You think we are going to win? You think we actually CAN win? In that case I have a bridge up for sale! Interested?

If not, then let me educate you. The war in Iraq is a no-win situation!
Check it out:

1. If we stay, we continue to fight for nothing (considering Iraq had NO WMDs, NO clear ties to Osama, and NO part in the 9/11 attacks! Why the hell are we there?). And now that the country is completely destabilized, us just hanging around trying to convince the Iraqis they should love us and believe in the puppet government we helped them set up is, instead, serving only as a giant recruitment poster for al-Qaida and giving the terrorists (who WEREN'T there when Saddam was in charge) free target practice with our brave soldiers on the receiving end. It will just roll on and on endlessly.

2. On the other hand, if we pack up and leave the puppet government in Iraq will crumble faster than South Vietnam and ARVN did when we bailed out of that cluster-f_ck in the early '70s. Then who will fill the vacuum? Some fanatical, psychopathic wack-job of a zealot who is 10 times worse then Saddam ever was, and...*presto!*...you have Iran 2: The Sequel! But we can't stay there babysitting them forever, so....

What do we do? Keep fighting a pointless, un-winnable, never-ending war based on lies? Or allow Iraq to turn into Osama's playground? Yup, Dubya really screwed the pooch on this one!

P.S. Should I even mention that the REAL war, the one in Afghanistan, still hasn't been finished?

Oh, and by the way, I'm not registered Democrat (or Republican). Not that it matters, but...

LOL i believe is the term. Yeah, "win" the war in Iraq, that'd be great wouldn't it? Personally, I think we should invade Canada and Mexico and add them as states. And then maybe the UK, god knows we need more comedy series that we can remake.

There isn't a war in Iraq. Your president announced the war was over in May 2003.

I believe you should be responsible for telling the 3270 and rising American victims families how they are winning the war in Iraq. Also tell the 1 million IRAQI's how it is better for Americans to occupy and kill, and steal from them in the name of God. You should also stand outside your local gas station and applaud GWB-Cheney efforts for bringing low gas prices to you via the blood of American soldiers. You should also tell the victims of the families of 911 that 343 fireman who know fire weren't experienced or smart enough to get out of the WTC'S, and explain to them how the fire that they were trained to put out blew them into dust particles.

There appears to be a real cognitive gap between the ears of most republicans. It's called missing the obvious.
