It may be an error on my part , but usually only Veterans ask 'where' did you serve .

And , they served in 'Nowhereland' !!

The foundation of America is crumbling. Our economy is shaky. People are having trouble keeping jobs and their house. America is has lost that super power status. Our government has focused on everyone else (countries) for the last several years that our own needs were put on the back burner. We need to focus on domestic issues and those four are the people to do that. No they don't have direct military experience, but I don't think that military experience will help get the economy back on track or help people keep jobs, etc. Our Military isn't the only thing that keep this country strong. I love the military...my husband is a Marine. In saying, military service does not qualify someone to run the Country. Franklin D. Roosevelt was considered one of the best presidents and he did so much to strengthen our Country, he was not in the military. Granted, he was Secretary of the Navy, but he never fought in a war.

The relevance is that Clinton didn't serve during Vietnam, Kennedy didn't serve, and Pelosi of course didn't, but they all could have. President Bush and Vice President Cheney are routinely slammed for either National Guard Service or deferments. The issue on all sides should be dropped.

The same base that Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Bill Frist, and Trent Lott served at - none. Nancy Pelosi is a woman and was ineligible for the draft. Kennedy served in the Army and was stationed in Paris.

For every draft-dodging Democrat you name, I can name a draft-dodging Republican. It is a pointless endeavor. There are currently more Democrats in the Senate and House who are vets than Republicans.

Bill Clinton went to the Soviet Union, no military service, women were not allowed to be a pistol packing mama, no idea about Ted Kennedy.

I believe Bill hid out in England at Oxford, where he didn't inhale. Nancy was probably hanging out in Berkley, leading sit ins against the war, and Ted was probably guarding the family yacht at the compound in Hyannisport, and raiding the liquor cabinet.

And where did Bush? Cheney? Giulani? Rove?

For all you Bushies who have the knee-jerk reaction of defending the schmuck, the reserves don't count.

Especially when you tend to be a reserve in the reserves (read: couldn't even bother to show up for that).

At least the people you mentioned left the country before getting to power, so they learned a little something about the world. Usually you get that in the military, but of course Bush didn't because he was partying too much.
