I will, Jen, though I'm not religious, spiritual, that way I get to pick a God of my understanding. My prayers are with you and your family. And your brother, cuz he has to pick up all those toys...
God Bless.

First of all, ALL teens are embarrassed by something about their parents, she has chosen her identity (no doubt when she was a teenager ashamed of her parents). There is nothing wrong with loving God, and having fun, there is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol (Jesus turned water into wine not the other way round). There IS something wrong with getting drunk. Religiously getting drunk is a sin. Medically getting drunk is bad for your health. Socially getting drunk is embarrassing and can ruin relationships. Worse yet when people are drunk they lose their inhibitions and the intelligence that would normally stop them doing life threatening or life-style threatening impulsive behaviour - like mooning an oncoming truck trying to see how close to the edge of a cliff you can walk etc.. In fact raging teenage hormones + excessive alcohol = recipe for disaster. You are not seriously telling me that at eighteen you're such a loser than you CAN'T have fun with your friends and party without getting drunk? Seriously? If so that's really sad. If you can have fun and drink responsibly, all well and good, if your friends are constantly getting drunk around you at parties and they are pressuring you to get drunk then they're the wrong type of friends and you should choose your friends more wisely before they drag you down into an irresponsible lifestyle of alcohol abuse or worse.

Jennifer, I just said a prayer for your Mom. I believe in the power of prayer, and I believe that faith is basis of all prayer. That means that you have to do your part. And your part is to truly believe that God is going to hear and answer. You're going to find that a lot of the people on here believe the same way. I know how difficult it must be for you, but don't lose your faith. Put it in God's hands now and let Him work His miracle. You can email anyone on here that answers you for support. God bless you and your Mom.
