I'm a Democrat because I believe poverty is root cause of every social problem in the world, and I think the Republican Party has no concept of what poverty is or how to combat it.

I'm a democrat sometimes and a republican at other times but most of my life I had faith in the democrat party. Because I was under the impression that they would one day turn into a socialist party. As you grow in life you will understand that neither party is looking out for your interest but theirs and the people that pay you. One day you will awaken to find out that you worked all your life for peanuts and all the while you though you were making money. You'll blame the blacks, Mexicans, Asians, trailer trash on food stamps, but truly after its to late you will find that voting for either brings you crumbs, compare your wages to the people in charge and see where you went wrong by working. I'll give you the answer; you didn't demand your government to give you more while blaming those poorer than you and barley mentioned or complained about all the money the government gives to other countries, but instead settled for low pay, police, laws to keep you in check, that's how they bought the Indians with trinkets. So to the young demand more fro you from your government

Because great aunt Lenora, mother and father were democrats during the great depression of the 1930's! FDR brought us out of the economic slump through WWII. He allowed the Japanese to bomb Pearl Harbor and kill 2000 American soldiers. Al Gore Jr. invented the radar systems that were protecting our ports! I believe he alone prevented an ice age back then! Boy he was the reason the democrats are soooooo modern in their governing policies! I mean to decide which power head scarf for My-dame Speaker to address Muslim male leaders. Brilliant!

Other than that there is not a good reason in the 21st century.

Because Democrat's policies are close Jesus teachings - social justice. Because Democrats are for majority of people as oppose to for major corporations. Because they are civilized and speak the truth. Because Democrats are responsible only for 25% of national debt ... hint the other 75% is responsibility of the OTHER party even though it is a "conservative" one.

They are not perfect , but between two they are way better. (The third choice is a waste)

I believe in justice, and not just the social kind; the USA's "unlawful combatants" need fair trials, not a rigged military commission process, with retrospective laws, and admission of hearsay evidence and evidence obtained by coercion... after five years of detention without charge.

If this is the kind of fairness and "freedom" Bush stands for, then *GO* the Democrats!
