Simply reverse the x and y to get x=7-y^2 so y^2=7-x and therefore, y=plus/minus sqrt(7-x).

y = 7 - x^2

exchange x and y
x = 7 - y^2
x-7 = -y^2
-x + 7 = y^2
y = +/- sqrt(-x + 7)

because it wantst x >/ 0, take the positive inverse function

y = sqrt(-x+7)

the domain is x \< 7

ans: f^-1(x) = sqrt(-x+7), x /< 7
