i assume i here is complex number, then i^2 = -1
[ x - (2+i) ] [ x - (2-i) ] = 0
(x - 2 - i) (x - 2 + i) = 0

Remember that A and B are solutions to (x - A)(x - B)=0, so...

(x - (2+i))(x - (2-i)) = 0
x^2 - (2+i)x - (2-i)x + (2+i)(2-i) = 0
x^2 - 2x - ix - 2x + ix + (4 + 2i - 2i - i^2) = 0
x^2 - 4x + (4 - (-1)) = 0
x^2 - 4x + 5 = 0
