Say you have a band's album. And you know it really well. You know the order of songs etc, so when one song from that album is played on the radio ... do you expect the ''next'' song?
Does it surprise you when the DJ plays something that you're not sub-consciously expecting.?
(You deserve a medal if you read that).

yep...throws me for a loop.
also, if you're used to hearing the live version of a song--then you hear the lame studio version...and you want to sing along to it--it's all off..

The DJs are paid well and they are people like us and most have a great sense of timing and music. They know what to play next and what people will like. So you are right sometimes you get some songs you want to listen after a song you just liked...

I not only read it I actually understood it...and that scares the heck out of me! lol
I have listened to CD's and new the songs and the order they were in and was somewhat taken-aback when the radio station I was listening to played something way out of line from what I was expecting (which was the next order of songs on my CD)...see?

my example - every beastie boys track I hear on the radio... I'm always expecting the next track.
Do you know which one makes me sick, even though they are two different songs? Led Zeppelin's Heartbreaker -> Living Loving Maid. They are TWO different songs, but they ALWAYS play them back to back on the radio. Ugh.... So I guess the reverse is true too...

Yes! Especially the old ones from when I was little that my brothers listened to over and over and.....over! Bad Company, Boston, Led Zeppelin....all those. We have a station here that plays 3-in-a-row one day a week and it's the old classics. Love it! Great question....where's my medal? :)

yep that happens to me all the time even if the songs dont flow into each other. Its just that my brain is so used to listening to the next song that everytime you here a song it automatically thinks that the next is goin to play. confusin!

Ha Ha! Yes! I literally start making the intro-sounds to the next song and continue singing it if I may...he he. Embarrasing? Nope.
