The last time I went on a real road trip was in 2000 when I moved from Seattle; we drove all the way cross-country, going south through Oregon and California and then east through Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and along the gulf to Florida. It was a lot of fun and we did make some scenic stops, but since we were moving it was a little more rushed than I would have liked. I've always loved taking road trips and someday I still want to just drive around the US and see what there is to see. Road trips inspire my writing :)

Last weekend. During the drive we listened to the White Album, followed by Revolver, then Dark Side of the Moon, and finally Led Zeppelin IV.
The best road trips are spontaneous and delight in the random.

That depends on what you qualify for a road trip. On Saturday, I tried to take my family to see Cesar Millan from the show The Dog Whisperer. Then we went to a Padres game that night.
On Sunday, we made two different stops for food with family on Easter. First, it was brunch and the country club where my wife's parents were members. Then we visited other relatives for lunch...probably drove a total of 50 miles or so.
If then doesn't count, I flew to Vegas in February and took the family to Disneyland in January.

Twenty-two years ago. It was camping in California and Nevada. The year before my husband and I (happily married for 20 years) divorced. {Male menopause!!!}
I'm not going to complain but it's the last trip of any kind, or vacation get away of any type I've been on ~~~ not even a 3 day weekend.
I don't complain because helping my two children through college was far more important.
I have to admit that going on a vacation would be exciting ~~~ I have always enjoyed camping.

We have just returned from a 5 day road trip to Talbotville, Victoria (Australia). It took us 9 hours to get there (we got lost!) and 6 hours to get home.
Road trips are my very favourite way to travel.
I am currently planning a 5 week driving vacation from Melbourne to Darwin. Can't wait....

Last fall I went to Europe and drove around Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain. *Sigh* it was so fabulous.
Incidentally, I'm taking a road trip next week to Memphis to stay there a couple of days.
