The sound seems to be coming from the left side of my Jeep. I have had it looked at but the service rep said he could not hear anything when he took it for a ride.

The Jeep is a 2005. Not sure what one means when he says "leave off on the steering". This sound occurs even when I am going around a slight bend.

have your power steering pump checked for fluid and make sure your belts are tight. if that does not do it take it to a dealer because it should still be on warranty - right?

if you have the V6, it may be involved in a campaign for removing a belt idler pulley and i believe replacing/rerouteing the belt due to noise. I recently read about it but I can not remember the details. check with your dealer service manager.

My taurus did something like that when I would turn, took it apart and found that the bearings went in one of the pulleys...
replaced the pulley and never had the problem again

Let off on the steering wheel. It's the by-pass in the PS pump that is sqealing.
