I would laugh at someone dressed like that if they were walking down the street, honestly I would. Women dressed like babies... OOKKKAY then, whatever floats your boat I guess, it just doesn't look right lol.

I like it. It's cute, seeing as how that was the aim of what they are wearing in the first place.
If I saw someone walking down the street in such an outfit I would most certainly stop them, take a picture and ask questions. Honestly I've seen stranger things come out of the fashion scene. This is by far the least eye gouging. *Have you seen Vivienne Westwood's bag shoes?!*
And as for some of the more violent responses, I have to agree. Just because they are dressed frilly doesn't mean they won't unleash a can of whoop-a** on you. ^_~*

Actually I have way more respect for people who dress this way than the people who just laugh but don't have the courage themselves to stand out.
Lolita fashion is by no means a simple one. Unlike your average day fashion the entire style is far more restricted and at the same time more creative.
It is not just a simple matter of rolling out of bad and putting on a dress. Their is a coordination thing going on which is lost in many other fashion styles.
If I would see someone like that walking down the street I would be glad that someone isn't concerned by the rude people who are calling others names. But instead wears what she/he likes regardless of the opinions of others.

I would have to talk to them and ask "Are you wearing Meta, Angelic or Baby?" I would probably find out if they are gathering for a tea party and ask were it is. Or I may just ask if they made any of their outfits.
I personally love the style with its mix of dolly, Victoriana, story book and/or Gothic. I adore it. You can feel free to be a storybook character or remember a time you were happy or just plain enjoy finding pieces and dressing up. I wish I had more money I only have 2 ensembles and they are both incomplete. I think (so long as it is appropriate) people should wear what ever makes them happy. And the girls look good. They are so pretty. so feminine. What is so wrong with that? Innocent fun. People run around dressed in Medieval, Renaissance, Civil War and Victorian clothes. Why not dress like a doll?
PS people this has nothing to do with Gwen Stephani. This style developed before she became famous... AND there is a whole community based around this premise that crosses countries and continents. ROCK ON LOLICHANS!

I don't think I'd see people dressed like that...exactly. Around here I'd probably see the cheap Hot Topic ZOMGRORITA versions with 5 pounds of cheap lace and a mismatched petticoat that stuck out.
To be honest, I wouldn't really care either way. When you see someone not dressed "normally", there's obviously a tendancy to stare for a few seconds (or a few minutes if you have no decency). But besides that, I don't think most people actually burst out laughing or make jokes loud enough that the object of their laughter (or anyone else around) can hear.
The people saying they'd burst out laughing or make some kind of rude comment are probably trying to make themselves sound wittier and braver than they really are.

I'm a lolita and I have no delusions that people will love our fashion or even tolerate it. I know that it's very over the top and very far from mainstream and that it's very misunderstood (seen wrongly as a fetish).
However, I really enjoy it and so do many others. We wear these clothes because we like them, we like the way we look in them and to be honest, it's just plain fun.
People can say whatever they want, but it won't change my mind on the fashion. If it really makes you feel that much better to put me down, then go right ahead.
For those who have tried to put me down I really just ignore them. They obviously were never taught any manners and have their own issues, otherwise they wouldn't have done anything. I'm not going to stop doing something I like just because someone else doesn't like it.
If you really can't accept something different from yourself, then at least have the decency to keep your mouth shut.

I find this style insanly adorable, In fact I'm currently awaiting the shipping of two dresses :D
I think the only time I'd ever be able to wear them is at the mall with a bunch of friends as my bodyguards due to the blatent stupidity and ignorance of most people I encounter.
Is everyone really that much of a jerk that they would openly laugh and ridicule someone's clothing choices to their faces?
It seems goth and punk have been accepted, but is this fashion really so extreme, or is it the fact that its not commonly known?
Also, sheep hearders DO NOT wear frilly lace and outfits that cost hundreds of dollars.
This fashion was inspired by Rococo period France where people actually cared about their clothing and it took them on average a few hours to get fully dressed.
If I saw people dressed like this I would admire their dedication to their clothing and courage to be themselves despite ridicule.
-end rant- X3

The first pic doesn't work but the second pic is cute<3
I love lolita I think it's so adorable, I think I started liking it after my father told me to start being more girly which now I am. Haha I can't wait until he sees me wearing pink frilly things rofl!
The girl in the pink outfit is my favorite she looks so cute! but the kuro girl is really cute too, I don't like the blue dress though but still CUTE. Hahah yes I say cute a lot but when it comes down to this fashion everything is cute. I don't like how they used the Berry Berry shoes twice though, actually I don't even like the Berry Berry shoes too many ribbons for my taste.
But anyhow back to the question, this fashion is very cute if done right. I would probably stare at them and then ask to take pictures and then later when they weren't looking I would kidnap them ^___^. I don't see why people think that it looks funny or stupid, you wanna know what looks stupid? 5million+ girls wearing the same thing that costs a shitload of money and looking like clones of eachother. Or how about girls going out in their pajamas? It makes you look like a lazy hobo so why don't you get dressed in the morning before heading out to meet your clone friends? At least this style has taste and the people that wear it don't go around looking like they forgot to get dressed. This style is original and people just think it looks stupid because they're afraid to step out of the conformity bubble. Atleast the people that wear this style aren't spending $100+ on shoes that everyone else wears. People should stop being such conformists and learn to start being themselves. If you wear what everyone else wears you'll eventually just blend in and no one will notice you.

That being one of my favorite fashions, I would act normal, or at least try to act normal when seeing a girl dressed like that walking down the street somewhere; but I would only be excited because I would be thinking the whole time "Loli-chan! Loli-chan!" You get a funny feeling when you see someone who has the same interests as you.
I can see why people would think of the fashion as 'weird', but that's no reason to jeer and be rude to girls who dress like that. And it wouldn't be as if words would change the way the girl would think; she's aware that by wearing lolita she's risking getting attempts of trying to break her feelings to wear something she love, not what is popular.

I regularly enjoy this fashion. It's a lot more modest than what most of society wears now. And for people who are going "ewww, wtf dey wearin?", what's your problem? Are you actually this rude in public? Be careful how you act, just because someone's dressed all cute and pink it doesnt mean they wont punch you in the face. :]
It's a common misconception that this fashion has something to do with fetishes...Like pedophiles and adult baby. It has nothing to do with this at all. Albeit expensive, it's very nice and as I said before it's modest. There is nothing wrong with someone if they're wearing it. How would you like it if I said "lol ur dresd funi, so ur retard" even if you're dressed in society's standard of normal. Not very nice now, is it?

I would love it. I would think they are very brave and very self-reliant. They don't conform to society's acceptance of what is presentable and what is right, and they're not afraid to show it. People always think "I'm such an individual. I think for myself. I'm unique" and yet they always by what's "in style", allowing the media to tell them what they should wear and end up looking like everyone else just because they want to "fit in". You truly don't know what it means to be an individual unless you've stood in the face of society, in the face of closed minded people who think such a style and such people are not normal just because they don't see those kind of things everyday. I really wonder why people think someone has problems if they dress the way they want to. Personally I'd laugh at the person laughing at these girls because they're just a product of someone else's ideals and not their own.
