Yes, but it will never happen, reverse racism is just tolerated for some reason.

I think it goes both ways. Yes, for Black boys to call white boys "cracka" is certainly racist. However, the fact is, if you were ever in the South during the Jim Crow era, you would see many instances of Black folks being lynched by white folks, while the white folks called them ****g*ers.
But how many times have you seen Black folks lynching and hanging white folks and calling them "cracker?"
Never.
So, white folks in this country are still practicing racism, although they do it more covertly. Such as passing over a Black person for promotion at work, or telling a Black family that "this apartment building has no vacancies" when in fact it does... for white people.
At least the Black folks who use racism in a humorous manner, like Chris Rock (who, by the way, is a very intelligent and thoughtful man, racist or not) are brave enough to put it out there where it can be openly discussed by all of us. White folks are too chicken to do that unless they are only with other white folks, and even then it's usually peer pressure.
It's called karma.

By the way, this may not be accurate, but here is my theory as to how the word "cracker" came about. During slavery, the white man's primary means of control was a whip, usually a bullwhip or a stockwhip. A whip is composed of four main sections: the handle or butt; the thong (the long flexible part); the fall (a single strand of tough leather at the point end, about 18 inches long); and finally, attached to the fall, a single piece of string, about 8 inches long that actually creates the "crack" of the whip and is called the popper, or cracker, because that's exactly what it does. So, that may be how the term came about.

You're neglecting to mention that there is a double-standard. Non-whites can make all sorts of racist remarks and jokes about whites. That's acceptable. But the reverse is not true.

I'm against all of these racist remarks. What IMUS said was out of line. But if a black person said it, it would be ok (socially that is).

Sure it's racist. Who cares? I'm tired of this whole PC whaa whaa bad names obsession.

The only reason this stuff keeps coming up is because both blacks and whites try to find ways to harass each other, and the PC cops are getting involved so they can feel good about themselves.

If blacks really want to improve their lot in life, they should take charge of their own lives and getthier act under control and quit blaming racism for every last failure. And the white community should stop feeling so sorry for itself when it's the victim of a little taste of the same kind of racism they gave the blacks for 400 years.

I think that this is always going to be an ongoing problem. It always seems like it is ok for blacks to make racist remarks towards blacks but it is a "SIN" for whites to say anything about black or any race for that matter. And yes i would consider the word cracker to be a very racist remark because it refers to the older days when the whites were "cracking" the black slaves. Hope this helps

I've seen Chris Rock make just as many jokes using the "N" word as using "Cracka". For example:

Chris Rock: I'm tired of black people blaming the media and saying that black people don't commit that many crimes. I can tell you that, when I'm using an ATM machine, I ain't lookin over my shoulder for the media. I'm looking for a "N"!

Now that is funny!

It's as daragatory a remark as a white boy calling a black boy a ******.

But for some reason it tolerated.

Reverse racism is alive and strong. Thank you ACLU.

Yes and no. Comedians are allowed a certain amount of leeway because their comments are to be taken within the context of humor. When a radio personality, who spends a majority of the time discussing political issues with politicians involved with those issue, makes racial comments, it is not as easy to draw a line between comedy and what they usually do; fact.

As for your average person, it is offensive to most people to use any racial slurs; be you black; white; Asian; Native American; etc.

It is racist, but Ive never heard of a black guy gettin beat for calling a white boy a "cracka" but you can bet your @$$ if a white boy calls a black guy a "N*gga", he's lucky to be alive!

Yes they should. Period.

Blacks have no remorse for their "humorous" approach to race relations. Always the victims.....

Their balls are REAL big when travelling in numbers or have the support of people like Sharptongue and Jackass, but mano a mano.....
no cojones.

no real contribution to society either..... sorry, rap doesn't count.

Yes it is a racist remark. Why don't you start the campaign to get them to apologize. It makes perfect sense, all things being equal, except that they are not.
