My Girl, the part where Vayda is at the funeral of her friend and she's got his glasses and she's upset, saying, "He's not wearing his glasses! He always wears his glasses! He needs his glasses!"
When we rented that movie several years ago, we thought it was a light - hearted comedy... the whole death- of- a- kid thing caught all of us adults off-guard and we (my sis, her husband, and I) all sniffled and snuffled through that part.

Oh and the book, WHere the Red Fern Grows... I wept when I first read it... and every single time I read that book aloud to a classroom full of kids... I wept - even though it was the umpteenth time I was reading it... not only that, but I have read it to kids, grades 2nd through 7th... it got the kids weeping, too! My 7th grade boys hid their faces in their shirts, so no one would see them crying...
