My oldest daughter had her first hair cut by the babysitter without my permission. I was soooo young at the time, only 20 when she was born and 23 when my second child was born. When I came to pick her up and found her hair cut, I, too, was mad, but never said anything to her. Even if I did, it wouldn't change the fact that her hair was already cut. Why she cut it really doesn't matter, she did probably think she was doing you a favor. I would suggest (now that I am much older) that you forget about asking her why, but just say that you wanted to be the one who cut the baby's hair first (or whatever your reason for not wanting it cut right now) and please don't cut it anymore, thank you. If I have learned one thing in life it is to move past the things you can't change. While I still remember that day my baby's hair was cut with some sadness, her hair did grow, and the babysitter didn't cut it again.

I would be furious! Just ask if her nicely if she cut your babies hair (people respond better to nice calm voices!) and when she says she did, tell her that it you are NOT happy and that you are the mother and YOU will decide if and when your baby gets her hair cut, not the baby sitter! I am getting mad with her myself as I type!! Good luck!

Oh, and I probably wouldn't have her babysit again...you never know what she will do next time...give her a tattoo? LOL, only joking!

Who does she think she is? Oh hell know, I would be so mad I probably would change sitters!! Some people are so stupid that they think they can actually do things like that to other peoples kids. I hope she @ least saved some hair for you to keep for it being her first cut. I would tell her you wish she would have asked you first, I mean you are only her MOTHER!! Be careful w/ that..... she obviously thinks she can do whatever so tell her EXACTLY how YOU do things and want her to do the same. Not to do things her way.

Wait a week to calm yourself down, because I'm sure your extremely upset and hurt. Then tell her that you wanted to wait and wanted to be there when your child recieved their first hair cut. She should understand being a mother herself...she'll probably feel really bad. Also be prepared to find a new baby sitter incase she gets offended.

The most important thing is to remember it's only hair and will grow back. Don't lose your temper. Good luck. And I'm very sorry to hear that.

I would be so angry! YOU should be the one deciding when and IF you want your 5 month olds hair cut. She crossed her boundaries. I would definitely call her and say... "You know what? This is really bothering me so I had to call you and ask you. Why did you cut my daughter's hair without my permission? I didn't want her hair cut and when it was going to be cut I wanted to do it myself." And then see what she says.

You have a right to be angry. I still haven't cut my 1 year olds hair because it's so hard to bring myself to do it... but when I do I'll add a lock to his baby book, etc. It'll be another milestone like first bath, first tooth.... first haircut. She should NOT have touched your daughters hair without your permission.

That is totally unacceptable and you need to tell her that. If you let her get away with this then what next? Get a new baby sitter.

That is so rude, I can't even imagine. I would highly suggest just asking her why straight out. Have your friend ask her why. I would find out because you just don't do things like that.

You are the parent! If you can't ask, then that person should not be in charge of your baby.

I would be mad, too!!!
