I gained 44 pounds! (I started out at 123 lbs). I lost the first 20 lbs almost immediately. My son is 6 1/2 months old now and I've got about 5 more lbs to lose. Be careful dieting when you are breastfeeding. I find that if I eat most of my heavy calories in the morning, and a salad with chicken or beef for lunch then a light dinner (salad with cooked chicken or fish), I tend to lose more quickly. I still can't seem to find time to work out! Good luck!

I gained 40 lbs with my son. I breastfed for 6 months. At my 6 week check up, I'd lost only 10 lbs--that includes the baby, placenta, water, everything! At 6 months, I'd only lost around 20lbs...worked really hard and lost a total of 30 lbs 9 months post-partum.
When my son turned 13 months I still hadn't lost the final 10 lbs. And now I'm pregnant again. I'm really hoping I lose it faster & easier next time.
I definitely did not lost the baby fat by breastfeeding-- If anything, I didn't lose it until after I finished breastfeeding.
Good luck-- It's different from everyone. Just realize you may be in maternity clothes for a few more months... Ugh! Too bad we don't all become instantly skinny after giving birth! It only seems fair! : )

I started out around 125 lbs, and gained 25 lbs. I lost most of it within the first 3 months, and then continued to lose more. My baby is 19 months now, and I'm down to 110 lbs, but now I'm pregnant again, so that will be changing soon.
It's not hard if you exercise, and eat small meals, and breastfeeding burns a ton of calories! Just stay active.

I lost most of the weight within a very short time after having my baby. She was a preemie and only 4lbs at birth. I gained about 30lbs during the pregnancy. I do breastfeed and I'm sure that it helped loosing the weight. Not to mention that I was quite small before I got pregnant.

I gained 19 lbs at age 24 w/1st pregnancy. i was 128 lbs pre-preg & it took nearly 2 yrs to lose that last 5 lbs. i lost pretty quickly; all but the 5lbs. i felt flabbier while i breastfed, (but so worth it). 2nd baby i was 29 and by that time had lost a lot of wt & was @ 112 starting out. i gained 20 lbs and when i was still at the hospital they weighed me before i left & was 116lbs. by 4 weeks i was under my original pregnancy wt. now many yrs later it seems i am back up to my usual at around 120-125, good luck. for me, no rhyme or reason to it.

I gained 23 lbs with my twins, and I am now 15 lbs below my pre-pregnancy weight, and now quite 8 weeks out from delivering them. I exclusively breastfeed, and I KNOW that is what has taken the weight off!

I GAINED JUST UNDER 30LBS. AFTER BIRTH I LOST 13LBS (BABY AND FLUIDS). IN 6WKS PP CHECK UP I HAD ONLY LOST ONE LB. AND I WAS 100% BFEEDING AND EATING HEALTHY. NOW ONLY 2MO AND 1WK AFTER I HAVE ONLY LOST 3LBS. ITS ROUGH BUT THEY SAY IT TAKES THA AMOUNT OF TIME TO LOOSE THE WEIGHT AS IT DID TO GAIN IT. EX 30LBS-10MO...IT WILL TAKE 10MOS TO LOOSE IT ALL. BLA~
