Just to address what I read by Lonestarlipper (or whatever).... I am a born Kentuckian. I am well educated and you sir have no business firing insults at Kentuckians. The imbred remark is inappropriate and is a very uneducated remark on your part. UK is proud to have Billy as coach and we are not sorry that you lost yours. Thats the name of the game. Its called basketball. Deal With It and Move ON!!!!! GO CATS!!!!!!!!

Your not going to be happy with him either. He plays a style ball similar to what Tubby liked to run. Till you guys get a Pitino type clone you will never be satisfied. As a Vol fan I am thrilled with the hiring though. Go Vols!

Hey Jenn W.,

i think Billy G. will definitely make an immediate impact- just because while Kentucky has been a decent program in the most recent years- it's taken a slight step down from what the UK tradition is. So just having a new face will be a breath of fresh air- kind of like a "new start".

In terms of next year- quite honestly Kentucky is not the most talented team in the SEC, and where Billy G. well hopefully do a better job than Tubby is in recruiting. Next year's team may not be as talented as this year's team (Randolph Morris was a beast this year)... and so we'll have to see who Billy G. can recruit.

I hope that they can get Jai Lucas or Patrick Patterson. i think in about 2 to 3 years they can get back to being a final 4 threat- assuming that they can get a couple of 4-5 star recruits.

Hope that helps. Kindly,

Nickster

I think that Billy G will be a huge assett to Kentucky. In his first year it just depends on if he can get players to fill the center and forward positions. They have a lot of talent at the guard positions but they could use a "true point guard" to lead them. If he can get Jai Lucas, Patrick Patterson, and a decent center I think they could be very good next year. Probably a lot better than they were last year. If not next year then the next they will be great.

I'm from Texas A&M and let me say that it's actually another breakthrough for the A&M basketball program. The fact that Kentucky thought that Gillepsi and built the program high eough to get to their standards is a hige complement.
