Any blue collar trade. I tease you not! They are begging for people to join union apprenticeship programs! Seems that the past generation leaned toward computers and technology and with the rate that blue collar workers are retiring, the voids cannot be filled. You do not need a degree to enter a union. Start your search with your local employment development department website or better visit them in person. California has some great resources online for apprenticeship programs by county. As far as the salary, if you have no degree, you would be better off doing this than anything else as far as money!

Computer Analysist/programmer or Technician.
A few years Back this market was saturated but our industry has grown over the last years to acccomodate many more Computer employees. It pays real good. $40-80M depending where you are hired. Don't need a Bachelors just a 2 year degree in Computer science. Go for it!
