Attitude
by Charles Swindoll [wikipedia.org]
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our Attitudes."

I refer you to Kayboff's quote from Charles Swendoll above. I first read that quote many years ago and it probably caused me to reflect for the first time just how important attitiude is, and to consciously recogonize that, yes, we do own our attitude, and we can DECIDE to change it on the spot if we recognize that change is needed. To completely effect the change may take a while, but at least we can begin that change with a conscious decision.
.
I think Swendoll says it about as well as anyone could. While attitude may not be everything, with the proper attitude you can get everything else you need.
.
In this vein, permit me give you another man's attitude:
.
"We can get everything we want out of life, if we will just help enough others get want they want out of life." Zigler
.
And isn't this simply a paraphrase of the words of the Great Master?
.
Live a Life of Service. When we serve others, we ultimately serve ourselves.
.
To quote, as nearly as memory serves, from Edwin Markham:
.
"There is a Destiny that makes us Brothers.
All that we send into the lives of others,
Comes back into our own."
