C. Luongo. He just got 47 wins in a season. Sure, Brodeur did it with a with a team that has years experience dedicated to the trap and defensive play. Luongo did it with a lot of less than superstar guys learning a new system. And how many of Jersey's wins were against Philly? As for Crosby - how many goals did he get against Brodeur in 8 games? Pittsburgh were horrible last year, and Crosby was playing great then. So he obviously isn't the team MVP. The difference with them this year is their goal tending has slightly improved. Oh, and Brodeur went crying to the GM that their coach was mean to them and got him fired with a couple games left before play offs. I think those tha be higher up will wonder about that.

alright well not many of you people obviously know hockey. Brodeur single handily took the devils to where there are every single year. He will go down as the best goal of all time and is going to shatter most goaltender records if not all!!!!. Brodeur is the MVP, crosby is a baby all he does is complain 2 the refs i mean cmon shut up and play the game he is one dimensional, he is a scorer and thats it his defensive skills are not there he is not a complete player at all. Roberto Luongo has had an incredible year but face it the canucks were a good team with or with out him they have solid D and are a strong offensive threat. HANDS DOWN MVP MARTIN BRODEUR

Roberto Luongo is more important to his team THIS year than anyone else. Marty is great and he did just take out my man's long standing record for wins but Luongo recorded all but two of his team's wins in goal. Crosby is a stud but as the sabres, the predators, the pens, the isles and the other offensive minded teams will find out soon, it takes defense to win championships and this is no truer than in hockey. Just ask the avs and habs about Mr. ROY.
Your NHL finals will be New Jersey and Vancouver. Not the quackers or the sharks or any other team not more than ten years old. That fad is over.
Have a nice day!!!!!

Luongo is the MVP of the league with Sidney Crosby a close second. Luongo took a non playoff team at the beggining of the year and transformed them into a contender. The same could be said for Crosby but that team is loaded with young studs. Staal and Malkin played phenomenal hockey and that helped take alot of pressure of of Crosby. Along with the vets they ahve it made it easier for Sid. Lets not forget there were stretches of the season where Crosby kind of dissappeared. Luongo was there night in and night out. Plus goaltendeing is the most important position. The pens will find out the hard way in the playoffs.

Are you asking who will get it or who I think SHOULD get it?
Crosby is getting so much attention and grooming as the "next Gretzky", now that he has won the Art Ross, it would be hard to believe he won't be selected.
And I will not say that is wrong.
But if it were up to me I would pick Brodeur. Here is someone who may very well have just had the best season by a Goalie in HISTORY. It's almost like New Jersey didn't have a backup. I can't even spell his name right -- Clemmenson is it? What did he play in - like 5 games?

Crosby. I know some people are tired of hearing about him but the fact is the Penguins had a huge turnaround. Yes, he is an amazing player on his own and he did great last year too and the penguins were garbage. I think he's matured a lot this year and made the players around him a lot better. That is the definition of the most valuable player. I have no doubt that the reason the Penguins did well this year is because they had confidence every time Crosby suits up. If he would've gotten injured they would've lost most of the games he was gone guaranteed.

Roberto Luongo. Brodeur might be better in terms of stats but Luongo has stolen so many games for the Canucks this season. He has made many incredible saves in one goal games this season. I'm sure that if Brodeur and Luongo switched teams, New Jersey would have won a few more games and be close to Buffalo for top spot in the East and the Canucks would've lost a few more games and be tied with Calgary for eighth seed.
Take a look at some of these saves:

I think this question is almost impossible to answer. Unfortunately as great of a season as luongo had he is not even in the running.
Sidney Crosby carried a penguins team on his back. This team was not even supposed to make the playoffs. They not only made it......but made it convincingly. They are a very scary team and its because of him
Brodeur is in his usual form. Where would the Devils be without him? He has a ton of shutouts, and plays great night in and night out.
This is a two horse race? Who do you give it to? I say Sidney Crosby gets it because his team was not supposed to anywhere. The Devils were supposed to be good. Crosby made them good.
