Check for XS650 owners clubs and forums, there are probably many of them. Start by looking into yahoo groups and search for yamaha 650. You might also look into www.vjmc.com (Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club), if you own this bike you might consider joining. I believe the 72 was the red one, they were a handsome bike. After the 73 model (blue) they started making them more ugly.

IIRC there is a company either in Oregon or Washington state called either northwest vintage motorcycle parts or just nw vintage parts that specializes in nos Yamaha parts. I picked up a brand new right handlebar switch from them a few years ago for my '78 XS500. Good luck hunting.
