why can't you have a blood test?? have you talked to your doctor about your concerns?

I take it you are scared of needles? If you can't have a blood test, how are you going to face the pain of birth? You need to have blood tests, not only to check for your pregnancy hormone levels, but to also check for hepatitis, iron levels, hiv and many other things that doctors know about. Also later in pregnancy the do one to test for downs syndrome and gestational diabetes. You HAVE to have blood tests so get used to it. Tell your doctor about your concerns. I am sure there are others out there that are the same as you and they will have strategies to help. I had a blood test recently and they have advanced in their technique so much that it hardly hurt at all. Go immediately to your doctor and get it done!!!

There is always ultra sound, but as you didn't say what blood test you would like an alternative for it makes it hard to answer your question.
