Why are athletes interviewed after and during games, when 9/10 times they say the same exact thing that?

any other athlete interviewed in their sport at that moment has said?

The athlete gets camera time and exposure. The tv fans get to see their favorite star for more time then just on the field and court. I guess it just doesn't matter what the say just that they are on the screen.
