What kind of shoes could I wear with this skirt?

I just bought this skirt from Dillards and was planning to wear it to work. I was thinking a mary jane would look nice with it with perhaps some white cotton tights. Any suggestions?

They need heels. Mary Janes can be worn with a fuller skirt but not a straight skirt like that. Stay away from white tights with it too. They need a natural looking hose. It is a professional skirt & needs to be complimented with a professional look. No executive women wear mary janes or white tights.

This is a great basic skirt and would lend itself to lots of looks. For dress or an important interview/date, a slender high heel would look very high fashion. A sling back would be a little more casual for spring/summer. A slender boot with a medium to high heel would work for fall/winter (assuming the fabric is heavy enough for cool weather.) Espadrilles would be fun, and summery with the right casual top. A basic low pump would always be correct, either in a neutral, or in a color. A patterned fabric pump would be fun as well.
The main thing is to keep the shoe slender like the skirt and with at least some heel height. I would avoid anything flat or chunky. Flat shoes with a pencil skirt will make your ankles and legs look heavy. Even a low heel will be flattering.
Since you didn't mention your age, body shape or type of work, it's hard to answer about the white cotton tights. Generally, contrasting colored hosiery calls attention to the legs again. White cotton tights with this skirt and flats will add weight to your legs. If you want people to see the skirt, wear hosiery close to your skin tones. Light gray stockings or light colored lightly textured stockings would be wonderful with this skirt. Light colored stockings that blend with a top, pale pink, cream, pale blue, etc. could work. Avoid stockings that are noticbly darker than the skirt unless they blend with your skin tones. Hope this helps.

A fairly low heel in red or black would be best. Natural colored hose. Definitely NO flip flops...not appropriate for work, nor are peek toe shoes IMHO. You need to look professional in order for people to take you seriously at work. The skirt is very nice, and a nice, modest heel shoe (also more comfortable than a higher heel) would look great.

if ur goin 4 formal, black high heels. peep toes, slingbacks, and pumps. or, u can the same color shoes as ur top. if ur gonna wear a cami, the an blouse or something, get shoes that match the cami.
this seems more of the more formal skirts, so stay away from beachy wedges or foam flip flops. go for more formal shoes. metallic shoes wud look really good also. i'd say silver wud look better than gold. ballet flats wud work, but it doesnt "complete" the look as much as the heels.
