My brother recently moved there. He is the only family I have. He wants me and my children to move there. I am a single mother, do you think I would like it there? Someone told me that if I wanted to meet a man, I would not find a lot of single men there. Is that true. I living in California now.

From the experience I have had with small towns, it is true. Most of the young, attractive males are taken, they are there because it's a great place to raise the kids. I have never been to Maine, but I'm guessing all small towns have one major thing in common: not much going on. The young, single, cool folks, are leaving...they come back when they're married, because small towns are great places for raising children, and they're much safer than the cities...to a point. As long as you don't forget that weirdos have wheels these days.

If you and your brother get along well that would compensate for many things. You would have each other to count on in times of an emergency and the children would have family in the area where they are growing up.
True, you probably won't find a lot of single men there because it is not a large metropolitan area. But, lets face facts, you are only looking for one and that could be one out of 10 or 1 out of 100. Another plus for Maine is I think the men there tend to be a little more marriage and family oriented than shack up oriented.
If you don't like it there, you can always move.

I have been asking for that very thing. What do you get..'form letters' and passed off to another so called 'customer service person' who hasn't got a frickin' clue about what had been said before. I asked why they are not stopping the Troll activity. I get a letter from some ******** explaining how to block. I said I can't block more than 200..I got another letter that not even I could figure out.. Town meeting...good idea in theory impossible in reality. Despite their statements..Yahoo couldn't care less about their 'valued customers.' Bet this answer to your question will get a violation notice.

Maine is really nice, but it is really cold for at least 6 months of the year. I would choose CA over ME as a place to live, and I think there are way more single guys in CA.

I am a man and I think it's harder to meet the opposite sex in all small towns!
