A ball is dropped from a height of 103 feet. Each time it hits the floor, it rebounds to 4/5 its previous height. Find the total distance it travels before coming to rest.

103 first drop

103*.8 = first rebound

103*.8 = second drop

103*.8*.8 = second rebound

103*.8*.8 = third rebound

just do this until you get something like 103*.8^10 which is a negligible number

and you'll get an answer that is pretty much correct.

103/1 *4/5= 412/5=82 .4 ft.
