I'm celebrating my birthday this weekend with a friend who will be coming into town. We've been to the Zoo and Wild Animal Park, but are looking for some other attractions here or nearby, somewhat affordable. Just looking for suggestions- events, restaurants, etc.

It depends on your age. There is the Carlsbad Flower Garden, Sea World and Temecula Wine Country. At night there are a ton of clubs to party at in the Gas Lamp District.
