The easiest thing would be to have materials so guests can make their own sandwiches, with cake and biscuits.
I would have punch, tea, coffee, and perhaps soft drinks available.
A buffett would make for a fairly low amount of work from you so you can enjoy guests.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY. First, you need a theme; like a throwback to the 70's-80's, considering the age difference of your guest. Have coolers set around with different drinks in them, beer in one sodas in the other. Make sure that anyone underage is "tagged" with something that let's everyone know that "HEY, PUT THAT DOWN". like an armband or big X on their hand. If you think that someone is a power drinker, take their keys and put it in a big jar filled with marbles and other keys so at the end of the night and they've had too much, they will have a hard time finding their keys and will need to call a taxi or stay the night. If you're having cocktails, serve pasta and bread, it soaks up the alcohol and it's cheap to feed everyone. Play gone in 60 seconds. It's a drinking game for everyone. All u need is a watch with a second hand and a beverage. Any number of people can play. Everyone picks a different number from 1-12. when the second hand gets to their number, they drink and it has to be finished before it gets back to their number. If they finish it, they slam it down and say GONE, If they don't they have to take 2 drinks. Fun game for everyone. Adult game is low man. All u need is a deck of cards and a shot glass. Everyone gets 1 card, lowest card takes the shot. Fun game for someone that can take a few shots and not pass out. HAVE FUN, B SAFE and don't let anyone leave plastered as you will be liable if they get into an accident.

Make all kinds of different foods, like a buffet with maybe chicken, rice, pasta, salad etc. Make all the things you like. Have a little bit of alcohol aswell.

If its going to be a nice day as its in May so you may even want to have a BBQ outside with chairs so people can hang about outside. Make enough food for 40 and have loads of afters aswell.

Have music on so people can dance, get a pool out if you have young ones coming. Make everyone come with at least one bit of Pink clothing and have a competition with a bubbly to win. Have pink invitations and pink balloons and a massive 21 cake with pink decorations.

Hope it goes well and have a great birthday xxxxx

first of all make sure theres plenty of food and print yourself a list of cocktails off the internet then buy lots of alcohol and people can make cocktails i did that recently at a party and it was a great hit the guests ranged from 8 to 45, the young ones also had a list of non alcoholic cocktails made with fruit juices e.t.c, we also had a karioke and everyone joined in with that and in another room there was a tvand an xbox 360 if anybody wanted to chill out the kids went on it later on as all the adults started dancing

have little games and 'stuff to do' areas around the party...I love it when people do this. Like a little roulette wheel with funny prizes - a picture area maybe to make buttons of your party - a blank canvas with writing pens or paint for writing /drawing you a 21st birthday wish - and one of those fortune wheel asnwer games when asking a question....if you really want to go all out invite a palm reader...I love those parties!!!

Most of all - HAVE FUN...and remember - when the food is gone - it is gone. Ask your favorite cooks to offer one of their recipes as a gift to you...fun for all!

Maybe pink balloons and streamers, and those pink and sweet sugar almonds in bowls.

One idea:
A great get-to-know-you game is a kind of Pictionary. One person sits on the stairs, out of the main room, with a list of words, and you mix the ages of your guests, and put them in to teams. It is a lot of fun, and a great way of getting everyone talking to one another regardless of age.

I hope you have a great 21st.
